The team behind Network Ten's hit
reality series, Bondi Rescue, is celebrating its
success at Sunday night's Logie awards after the
show won the gong for most popular factual program.
Waverley
Council lifeguard co-ordinator Bruce Hopkins swapped
his speedos for a suit and tie to accept the Logie
on behalf of the professional lifeguard team and
the program's producers, Cordell Jigsaw.
Now
in its third season, Bondi Rescue was also nominated
for most outstanding factual series, but the award
went to ABC1's Choir of Hard Knocks.
Waverley
Mayor Ingrid Strewe congratulated everyone involved
with the program and praised the series as "a
great vehicle for promoting surf safety".
