Interview - Therese Zuanetti

Interview: Therese Zuanetti, producer and director, Real People TV

Media Man Australia continues to explore the world of reality television.

Real People TV 'Voice' of the People

What is Your Background?
As a teenager I used to enter competitions, where I would organise functions and raise monies for charitable organisations. Worked in solicitors offices in secretarial roles, in the local council as administrative officer and Fundraising, Marketing, Promotional work raising funds for many organisations. Many of these functions have allowed me to network with a number of sports celebrities and famous faces who assisted me. I have appeared on Optus Vision and Brisbane Extra as well as on the radio talking about local issues as I am a great believer in speaking out loud.

What is Real People TV?
Real People TV is a new and exciting Talk Show that will focus on people in general. An opportunity for the average person to speak out loud about real issues, community based and personal. The focus behind the show is 'REAL' not reality, say it as you see it.
Real People TV has already created community interest through its website log onto www.realpeopletv.com.au where people from different states have written in expressing their interest in coming on the show to share their stories. Its welcoming and warm
atmosphere has appealed to kids as young as 11 to the elderly in their 70's.

What motives you?
The support of the community, knowing that there are so many people out there who are just waiting for Real People TV to hit their television screen. I am very passionate about what I do as I know in my heart that Real People TV will open up many doors for
people and in actual fact give them the opportunity to help one another. Real People TV is the 'Voice' of the People.

How did you get your break in television?
I have a great deal of determination and believe in following my dream. I decided to take on a career change in producing and hosting a television Talk Show for real people and focusing on the average person in the community who is usually left out of the circle of opportunity. One of the episodes that are being filmed will be focusing on Career Changes proving that everything is possible.

Correct me if I am wrong, most of the time its about who you know not what you know, it shouldn't be about the same celebrity faces taking over the television screen, what's wrong with giving other people the chance to broaden their talent? You can achieve so much as long as you believe in yourself and you have the communities interest at hand.

Why should Real People TV move from Community TV to commercial television?
Community TV gives people the opportunity to showcase themselves and what they're offering. By moving Real People TV to commercial television it would broaden and opens up more doors as it reaches more people. Real People TV is going to
capture the attention of all demographics, nationalities and multicultural communities.

Who have been your favourite interviews, and why?
I have not done many interviews as yet but honestly, to interview the person walking down the street, the elderly or today's youth and get the real story.

What have been the highlights of your career to date?
Working on Real People TV as this show will capture the attention of everyone who is ready to make a difference in the world we are living. Its not about just being beautiful with a slim body, its about getting people to open up and belong and sharing their thoughts about life in general.

Why should sponsors give serious consideration to Real People TV?
As most of the population is made of real people, they are the ones who purchase their products, so why not support each other and make a difference in creating Australia's 1st "Real People Talk Show". Its about time the Australian public create their own talk show, hosted by a real person, being me, who people can relate to. Real People TV is the show that will create so much controversy in Australia as it will leave nothing out. Sponsors do not let this opportunity go by as I am putting my life on the line to create a show that all Australian's will want to participate in. log onto www.realpeopletv.com.au

What media coverage have you achieved?
The local community newspaper the Sun has been great in providing Real People TV with ongoing exposure as it believes in the concept. Gold Coast Bulletin and the Brisbane Courier Mail. I have also done some radio interviews and through all this have received great community support. I see so many trivial stories that hit the news or make the morning shows, isn't it about time that Real People TV is given the exposure it deserves as it has the community's interest at hand ?

What do you do to relax?
Although Real People TV is my main focus I try to unwind by going out dancing, going to the movies and listening to music whilst walking on the beach.
