Ask Annalise Braakensiek – actress, model, television host – to describe her ideal job, and she comes back with four short words: ‘a Woody Allen film’.

Because while she’s best known for her windswept beachgirl looks and a body most women would kill for, there is another side to Annalise – one that is increasingly gaining prominence.

For a start, she speaks five languages – English, German, Italian, Dutch and a smattering of Japanese learnt at school. She has hosted a segment on MTV Germany in German, and hopes to capitalise on the foreign opportunities presented by her multilingual skills. As well, she has studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts at COFA, University of New South Wales.

Then there’s her emerging profile in both television and film. In Europe Annalise has appeared in several television series and commercials, as well as magazine editorials and advertising campaigns. In the UK, she is Bruce Forsythe’s co-host for the London prime time game show Play Your Cards Right on ITV on Saturday nights. In Australia, Annalise’s television credits include the lead role of Claudia McPherson in Pizza; Heartbreak High and Home and Away. Her film credits include Babe: Pig in the City, Mr Accident and, most recently, the spin-off blockbuster movie Fat Pizza.

Annalise’s collaboration with director Paul Fenech on Pizza has enabled her to test her writing skills, with great results. The show – which will enter its forth series in 2004 - has been nominated for three Logie Awards, and was adapted into a sell-out stage show before the release of the feature film in April 2003.

Regular television appearances have included programs in Australia and the UK, including the Big Breakfast Show, MTV, VH1, Night Fever, Good Morning Australia, E!News, The Panel, Foxtel Entertainment News, The Hub, Beauty and the Beast, Burke’s Backyard, The Movie Show, Good News Week and four episodes of the six-part ABC documentary Bondi, which screened in the UK as well as Australia.

Most recently, Annalise has been named as the face of U.K. television station Aussie Gold. The station launches in December 2004 and is free-to-air via the Sky digital platform. It will be accessible to more than 9 million households.

Annalise first made her name as a model, building a stellar career in Australia and abroad. On the international stage, she worked with Gucci, Versace, Issey Miyake, Anna Sui, La Perla and Gaultier. Annalise has also featured in a number of high-profile advertising campaigns, for Guiness in Europe with celebrity photographer Rankin, for La Perla lingerie in Italy and for Lee jeans in the USA. She has also been a celebrity model at Sydney Fashion Week, Melbourne Fashion Week and the Melbourne Fashion Festival, and supports the promotion of fake fur items and the protection of animals in the production of fashion.

Annalise has also recently finished filming the latest television advertising campaign for Toyota.

Annalise has featured in many major magazines in Australia , Europe , U.K. and the U.S.A.
