RACING - MEDIA MAN AUSTRALIA MOTORSPORT
PRESS
RELEASE
As
I sit here, at home on a Saturday night, on my own,
watching the Olympics and the Rugby Tri-nations, I
to dream of my chance to stand on a podium.
Maybe
it's not the Olympics but the meaning of finishing
a professional race with a podium position would hold
the equal meaning to me.
I
actually believe that to start a professional race,
I would be a winner!
Why
am I sitting at home on my own on a Saturday night,
I here you ask, answer, going out costs money, if
I spend it, the dream takes longer, and I am at four
concentrated years so far.
Greg Winner Tingle has posted the pictures of the
proto-type for your visual delight.
I
wish I could mention the people and businesses that
have worked with me to produce the first vehicle in
the attempt to get to the Australian Safari in September,
but unfortunately even as careful as I have been,
I have unfortunately come across some businesses that
believe because I am trying to go racing that theirs
an open cheque book, endless amounts of money and
there work can be average (to say the least) in attempt
to get more money out of me.
The
quotes I diligently put together meant nothing once
the car was in their possession. After many weeks
of delays that have destroyed any chance I have in
competing in this years Safari, I was left with a
car that's gear box isn't even good enough to drive
around the streets, instead of getting a box that
I can use to race I have ended up with a box a granny
would complain about, then there's the engine, after
spending $11,000.oo on the high performance engine
I received an engine that produced (when I first received
it) 25 horsepower @1500rpm and 45 horsepower @ 3600rpm
that's not even kilowatts (my motorbike has more grunt)
after machining jets to get more fuel in and adjusting
timing we (not the people who built the engine) )
managed to get a little over 100 horsepower @3600rpm
still very average but at least I can drive it.
Of
course I phoned my business lawyer who basically told
me that I had to add insult to financial injury and
pay.
I
cant explain how devastated I am that the planning
organizing and making sure the mechanics had everything
they needed to build to high standards and within
a month (for business reasons) turned out so badly
and over 6 weeks late, the extra time I couldn't work
took a sever battering on my wallet then theirs the
time I'll have to take the car of the road again to
fix the gear box, all this adds up to not racing and
not being able to purchase another road car.
Rather
than dwell on the negative, I have learnt some very
important lessons on what to build and who to get
to help me build it. I was always willing to put my
own money forward to get my foot in the door as it
were, and all is not lost with the car I have as I
have a eye catching car for business which I am sure
will be of benefit to me, even if I cant get those
35 inch wheels smoking.
Next years Australian of-road series is still in my
grasp as long as I get the backing that I need, if
theirs anybody businesses that would like to spend
their advertising budget in a different way or make
a donation we will be able to get the new car under
way.
In
the coming weeks I will post some prices in regards
to drive train and body.
Greg
winner Tingle and myself will identify the people
and businesses that contribute to the project in promoting
your products on the winners web site, on the proto-type
and when we have it the racecar and transporter.
Be
assured you will receive more media coverage than
some v8 super car teams get.
Please
contact Greg winner Tingle for more information, both
he and I are committed to this project and to anybody
willing to come on board.
