Aussie Gold To Help Australian Businesses Break Into The UK Market


Aussie Gold is a new free-to-air digital television channel which will launch in the UK this December via the Sky platform. Available to around eight million households, Aussie Gold will screen classic and current programming from Down Under including soaps, mini-series, telemovies, films, sitcoms, children's drama's, lifestyle programming, documentaries, reality shows- in fact a whole host of all time great entertainment from Down Under.

Last week the channel announced that it would only screen Australian commercials and in a further development is now offering a unique service to Australian companies.

"Alan Huggett is a member of the consortium behind the channel," commented Darren Gray who is Director Of Programming at Aussie Gold, "Alan has a very successful distribution and marketing company and will offer UK distribution of goods and services to Australian companies who do not currently have these systems in place over here."

Australian companies, large and small, will be able to promote themselves on the channel with commercials and programme sponsorship options. "The advertisers will also be marketed on the Aussie Gold website which is being designed and constructed at a cost of UK£10,000," continued Gray, "and Alan's company will then make available these goods to the public via the phone, e-mail and post.

"We will also welcome advertisers whose products are already available in the UK of course, but should non-Australian corporations wish to promote their products on Aussie Gold, they will only be allowed to run the Australian versions of their commercials. We are very happy to screen current or archive commercials from the past as we believe that our viewers will find these far more interesting and appealing than the usual British adverts."

Aussie Gold is also keen to hear from organisations who originally sponsored programmes when they aired in Australia and those who provided prizes for the various game shows they'll be screening, "Our aim is to help Australian businesses grow and expand in Britain," said Gray.
