Ben Rabah Challenges N'dou!

Press Release: IT'S ABOUT TIME

Earlier today, boxing trainer/manager Craig Christian issued a challenge to junior welterweight Lovemore N'dou on behalf of West Australian-based Tunisian, Naoufel Ben Rabah, who is currently 16-1 (8) as a professional:

"It is about time that Lovemore N'dou fought the best boxers in the country now that he has failed once again in the USA. Don't get me wrong, he is a good fighter and has gone down fighting in his losses and has represented Australia well, but it is quite clear he is being outclassed overseas. He has lost four out of his five fights in the US. He has challenged Kostya Tszyu when we all know by now he is clearly out of his class. All he was doing was looking for a payday; Kostya would destroy him. It must be time now that he fights the best this country has to offer. In his last fight in Australia, he beat Argentinean, Ariel Araricio, who won three of his last five fights. Just look at the three fighters records he beat:

· 10 wins 13 losses
· 05 wins 02 losses
· 00 wins 08 losses

"Then he fought Carlos Rios who had won 1 of his last 5 fights. He fought Fred Kinuthia and won a very close 12-rounder. Australia's best Naoufel Ben Rabah has challenged Lovemore from the time when he started challenging Kostya Tszyu. Naoufell Ben Rabah has beaten Fred Kinuthia twice, easily. He is a former 2000 Olympian like Miguel Cotto (the man N'dou was just defeated by).

"Is it because Lovemore is too scared to fight Naoufel Ben Rabah, too risky they say, or is it he doesn't want to give any Australian boxer a chance to climb the ladder? This is very selfish and is not in the best interests of Australian Boxing.

"Rabah deserves his chance, and the best fighter in the division should represent the Australian public.

"Everybody wants to see the fight happen, as it will be a great spectacle.
Jeff Fenech is prepared to put it on Hussein Hussein's world title fight card on June 27th 2004. Naoufel Ben Rabah is ready. He says he will 'fight any time' and put all his belts up. Rabah says he will fight, winner take all, whatever it takes to get Lovemore in the ring. It is not about the money but simply finding out who is the better man.

"The Australian public wants the fight. It is always a pleasure to see a real contest. It is all up to you Lovemore. Common N'dou, do the right thing. We have a date, we have a promoter, let's get it on! Who is the best, N'DOU or Rabah? Lets find out."
