Designbuild
is Australia's largest exhibition for the building
and design industries. More than 400 exhibitors from
14 countries, including major groups from Canada,
China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand and
the Philippines participated in Designbuild 2004,
attracting 14,442 'trade only' visitors over the four
days. Designbuild has an unrivalled reputation of

Product News and Selector.com awarded the Best New
Product at the exhibition to Connolly Key Joint Pty
Ltd for their new Expansion Joint product.
The
new expansion joint is unique among other expansion
joint products currently available. It can be used
for forming expansion joints in continuous concrete
pour applications in addition to conventional end-of-pour
situations. This Expansion Joint gains its strength
from a rigid steel backing profile, with the expansion
capability provided by closed cell foam adhered to
the face of the metal profile. The system provides
a rigid and strong product that produces straight
clean lines. The Expansion Joint is fixed in place
with Connolly's renowned and patented peg and wedge
fixing system making installation fast and simple.
A purpose built complementary dowelling system ensures
a structurally correct joint is achieved while establishing
substantial cost savings through reduced labour requirements.

Pty Ltd, said "The industry has waited a long
time for the development of a quality Expansion Joint
for continuous pours. This product will improve the
performance of concrete pavements and save time and
money as well."
This
award adds to the Australian Design award received
previously for Connolly's key joint product. Mr Tyler
said that export sales have also increased dramatically
in recent months due to the successful acquisition
of a distributor for their products in Canada and
North America. "Following our success at Designbuild,
companies in Malaysia, China and Singapore have also
expressed interest in distributing our products"
he continued.
Mr
Tyler will also be present at SCU tomorrow morning
for the Business Innovation Awards as part of the
NRACC Small Business Awards ceremony.
