FIGHTING FILMS - Special screening at Bowraville Theatre

At 2.00pm on Sunday 1 February 2004, Dr Lisa Milner will be hosting a
special event to celebrate the work of the Waterside Workers Federation Film
Unit at the newly restored Bowraville Theatre, Bowraville. On the day, she
will be launching her new book Fighting Films and speaking about the work of
the Film Unit.

The event will also provide a unique opportunity to view some of the rarely
seen 'wharfies' films, and experience the refurbished Bowraville Theatre,
which opened last year after many years of dedicated work by the Bowraville
Arts Council and community. Entry to this special event is $5 and all
proceeds go towards the maintenance of the theatre.
