Media Man Australia Shakes Up Media and PR Market
Media Man Australia is taking on the BIG end of town
in the Australian promotional business.
Like
many others, Greg started his media and promotional
enterprise at grass roots level, by assisting and
collaborating with many community groups and Channel
31 Community TV.
This
in turn led to bigger and better things. Before you
could say, "testing", big media outlets
like the Australian Broadcasting Corporation were
calling for comment on everything from Reality TV
to crime.
The
new year got off to a massive start for MMA with the
signing up of "TWLS" (The World's Largest
Steer) - NO BULL!, Film Maker, Gary Young of The Film
Factory (director of 70's classics, "Cosy Cool"
and "Wheels On Fire"), merelyplayers (creative
production company), Snowboard.com and AWF Pro Wrestling.
The Hit! TV project has just taken a mammoth leap
forward, and will likely be screening on Australian
TV sooner, rather than later.
Recently
MMA has become aware of other terrific attractions
that they are also negotiating with, including "Aussie
Richard Branson" (a dead spit of the real thing
- oh, gosh), the world spear-catching champion, and
Didjitalis (a sublime combination of didgeridoo and
digital music). They also have Tony Rafty OAM, world
renowned caricaturist, waiting in the wings to create
caricatures of those wishing to be captured in art
next to one, or a combination of, their unique performers.
Yes, the team is also available for appearances and
interviews.
The
signing up of TWLS and Gary Young was paramount to
their long-term success and public awareness. Everyone
likes animals and everyone likes BIG. The Film Factory
has provided MMA with the film making equipment and
technical expertise they required to make the commercials
and promos that will be pitched to Australia's top
ad agencies, mobile phone, airline and FMCG companies.
It's
easy to see the promotional advantages of utilising
a gigantic steer - "steer on over to your x car
dealership today", "bullish deals on mobile
phones at x", and so it goes on. For those of
you who don't know, a steer is a castrated bull.
Just
imagine having your product or company endorsed by
one of Media Man's attention grabbing creations.
Media
Man's current focus includes looking after their existing
clients like gold, securing an insurance sponsor for
"The World's Largest Steer", re packaging
Gary Young's Australian classic movies onto DVD for
worldwide distribution, and filling up The TAP Gallery
with his upcoming merelyplayers - "Birth, Death
and Everything Between" production. Then Greg
plans to have AWF Pro Wrestling and "TWLS"
make an appearance at his "home" beach of
Maroubra, obviously recognising the area needs some
positive, feel good promotion.
Greg
is quick to point out that he doesn't have all the
answers, but does have some of them.
Media
Man Australia utilises both traditional and new age
techniques to the benefit of their clients. Press
releases (like this one), are important to get your
name out there, as are radio and TV spots, Internet
presence
( www.mediaman.com.au ) and the good old fashioned,
word of mouth.
Greg
says, "We are on a pretty steep learning curve
at the moment and our clients understand this".
He is quick to let people know that he isn't Max Markson
or Harry M. Miller, but sees a little of both in him.
Greg says, "many of Australia's top promoters
have been most supportive, including even granting
interviews, and the big two have given me some tremendous
advice". It would be fair to say that Media Man
Australia is at least a little more affordable than
they are.
In
the promotional business it's a given, that promoting
good stuff and looking after your clients is paramount.
Media
Man Australia's motto is "putting your name
out there!" Mr Tingle, you've done it again!
