- 25th August 2003
Standing
Eight is the latest company to support Media Man Australia.
Media
Man Australia director, Greg Tingle, is yet another
very happy customer of Standing Eight, based at Coogee
Beach.
Greg's
daughter, Michelle, needed a quality wetsuite, and
fast, and s8 came to the rescue.
Via
Greg's mate, Neil Cameron, of Bushrat Surfboards,
MMA made contact with S8 owners, Brad Carroll and
Olivia Skene.
Michelle
Tingle will be testing the wetsuite this weekend up
the coast in the Seal Rocks area.

skateboards, skate accessories, alternative CD's,

The
mission of the shop is to create an environment where
people feel they belong. For to long surf shops have
become sterile franchised money making machines. Standing
Eight's main goal is to give the customer great shopping
experience. They also offer a range of clothing slightly
different to your normal surfshops, a perfect mix
of surf, skate and streetwear. They pride themselves
on not following the crowd.
Brad
says, "There is nothing we won't do for our customers.
We do a lot of special orders for people from wetsuits
and surfboards to DVD's and clothing. If we don't
have it we will do anything we can to get it".
Media
Man Australia director knows this to be the case,
having received first class treatment all the way.
Where
did the name "Standing Eight" come from,
I hear you ask?
It's
taken from the boxing rule, Standing Eight Count,
where a boxer is given a
count of eight to decide if he wants to continue.
Surfing,
skating and many other board sports have moments like
this when you have to look inside yourself and decide
if you are willing to put your fear
aside and commit yourself 100%. It may be trying to
ollie a huge set of
stairs or just paddling out in the biggest surf of
your life. Standing Eight
believe that you must always push yourself to break
through your limits.
Greg
Tingle says, "if you want great surfing or skate
gear, with top service, and the right price, you can't
go past these guys". They get the job done, when
others can't, and at the right price. Nothing seems
impossible at Standing Eight".
