The UFC was forced to cancel a press conference for the first time ever. The reason?

Apparently there were some backstage altercations.

The abrupt halt was ‘for everyone’s safety’, according to UFC President Dana White.

Only two fighters initially took the stage: Kevin Holland and Daniel Rodriguez.

“This thing ain’t gonna happen. I apologize everybody,” White told those in attendance. “I’m in weird waters here. This has never happened in the history of this company. Trust me when I tell you, this is the right decision not to do this press conference right now… For everybody’s safety, this is the right decision.”

White would later say during a media scrum the cancellation was a result of skirmishes between Khamzat Chimaev and Holland, who are not fighting each other Saturday night at UFC 279.

The main event card is looking like the biggest liability in BetOnline's 23-year history, according to Head Linesmakers Dave Mason.
