AIMING FOR SUCCESS

There are 2 disciplines for trap shooting, one is Down the Line {DTL} and the other is ISSF Trap which stands for International Sports Shooting Federation. ISSF is by far the hardest discipline to shoot also being an Olympic event and known by most shooters as the Formula One of Clay Target Shooting.

Tony spent 4yrs shooting DTL but then decided to follow the ISSF circuit 2 and a half yrs ago. He has quickly applied himself well by constantly training at his home club at Sydney International Shooting Center. Competition has taken Tony to every State in the country including competition abroad as far as Singapore where he won Gold for Australia and also to New Zealand.

Tony explains that this sort of exposure to challenging ones ability gives him an advantage over most competitors. It has provided him success with a host of Club Championship victory’s including State Grand Prix and recently winning the Southern Zone in Canberra also placing 2nd in Tasmania for their State Titles and his latest win has secured him a place to represent NSW at the 2006 Nationals in January with Olympic dual Gold Medalist Michael Diamond and Olympic Representative Tom Turner making up the 3 Man Team.

Without the support and sponsorship of Diana Hunting Club and President Luigi Cantali {Dad} Tony states he would not be at this elite level and have the opportunity to see different places in the world including this wonderful country called Australia, thanking Dad and Mum including those who believe in his goals and dreams.
