The chief executive of Aristocrat Leisure, Jamie Odell, insists he can get strong growth as a result of the group’s $1.4 billion acquisition of Video Gaming Technologies even though VGT’s gaming machines do not have much presence outside of North America. VGT focuses on so-called Class II games, which unlike traditional gaming machines that are powered by random number generators, are based on a bingo style game. Analysts have questioned the size of the Class II market, but Mr Odell maintained Aristocrat is confident it can grow the business.
