Robin
Hood: Origins has found its Maid Marian.
The
Knick star Eve Hewson will follow in the footsteps
of Olivia de Havilland, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio
and Cate Blanchett in playing the outlaw's love interest.
According
to Deadline, Hewson held off competition from more
than 100 actresses to win the role.
Belle's
Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Gaite Jansen and Lucy Fry were among
the rising stars who came close to joining new Robin
Hood Taron Egerton in Sherwood Forest.
A
bit of trivia on Hewson... she's the daughter of non
other than U2 frontman Bono.
Peaky
Blinders director Otto Bathurst is behind the camera
for Robin Hood: Orgins, with Joby Harold (Knights
of the Roundtable: King Arthur) writing the script.
The
story, apparently inspired by Christopher Nolan's
The Dark Knight, sees Robin return from the Crusades
and fight corruption in Nottingham with his band of
Merry Men.
Leonardo
DiCaprio is one of the producers on the movie.
