SAN
ANTONIO -- Local superstar Eva Longoria held a star-studded
charity event to benefit young adults with special
needs.
The
red carpet was unveiled for the eighth annual Celebrity
Casino Night on Saturday.
The
event brought together San Antonio celebrities like
local Spurs star Sean Elliott and actor Jesse Borrego
to raise money for Eva's Heroes, a charity founded
by the Texas star to help young men and women with
special needs.
"My
oldest sister is mentally disabled," said Longoria.
"We started Eva's Heroes just as an after-school
program to help people like my sister."
Longoria
said proceeds from the event go straight to charity,
allowing it to provide after-school programs, monthly
activities, and summer enrichment programs to 1,500
young adults with special needs every year.
Those
in attendance say the efforts have inspired them to
do more for their local communities.

"If
we don't do it, who's going to do it?" said Borrego.
"We take her lead, we take her example and we
give back whenever we can," he said.
