EXCLUSIVE:
George Miller has gotten his green light and a March
production start in Australia on Three Thousand Years
of Longing, with Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton now
locked to star. That Miller is making this film isnt
a surprise: independent distributors rarely get a
shot at a big-ticket film from a commercially successful
auteur like Miller as he was coming off his Best Picture-nominated
Warner Bros blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road. FilmNation
had a crowd eager to open their wallets for international
rights when the script was shown to buyers at 2018s
AFM. CAA Media Finance is selling North American and
Chinese distribution rights and FilmNation is finishing
overseas sales, but Miller has the money he needs
to make his movie.

Im
not done with the Mad Max story, he told Deadline,
and I think you have to be a multi-tasker and
theres certainly another #MadMax coming down
the pike after this. - #GeorgeMiller

That's
freaking awesome news Nathan. Thanks for finding out.
I hope the heck it may contain the water shortage,
water for sale to the highest bidder, council and
government corruption, climate change, and maybe even
bushfires and a banking scandal. Just suggestions.
I'm not writing the script for Dr Miller, as some
of this stuff basically writes itself. Life imitates
art, just as art imitates life. I prefer to see you
play the hero Mr Jones, and perhaps Mr Miller can
have you save Australia from the evil empire?! I met
and did a 3 minute interview with George at the Happy
Feet 2 red carpet at Entertainment Quarter, Moore
Park, when Robin Williams was still alive. Both great
gentleman and a credit to the human race. Public thank
you for helping keep it real. I reckon the late Roddy
Piper would be proud of you, and Mr Miller. I would
love to know what John Carpenter thinks of the Mad
Max franchise...maybe he may comment now that's it's
written about in today's installment of the Real Aussie
News! Keep spreading the news...
