Chris
Hemsworth attends charity preview screening of upcoming
film 'in the Heart of the Sea' to raise money for
the Australian Childhood Foundation.
The
Thor star walked the red carpet at the event in Sydney
on Tuesday night.
He
spoke to Sky News about why the charity is close to
his heart - both his parents working as social workers
with the organisation assisting children who have
suffered from violence or trauma.
Top
prizes at a charity auction following the movie included
a walk-on role in the upcoming Thor film to be shot
on the Gold Coast; and a dinner with Prime Minister
Malcolm Turnbull, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and
Hemsworth.
The
dinner went for an impressive $50,000 - with all the
money raised going toward establishing a trama and
recovery centre in Sydney.
The
charity aims to build one of these centres in each
state and territory.
