The
Ritz Cinema is steeped in rich history and tradition. Built in 1937 and now heritage
listed, it is one of the only two original Art Deco cinemas remaining in Sydney.
Still offering the lowest price movie tickets available, the cinema has survived
a fascinating history of tumultuous change and holds an important place in the
local culture. This heritage and unique design adds to the charm and warmth of
the Ritz Cinema that other venues cannot match - showing the latest in blockbuster
and independent film. Media
Man founder and director, Greg Tingle:
Is it over the top to suggest that Randwick Ritz might not be just one of Sydney's
and Australia's favourite cinema's, but also ranked around #1 on a global scale?
I think not. The famous and beloved cinema has enjoyed countess of premieres over
the years, and a few renovations. Plenty of star power, big names and all that
jazz. Did we mention that Hugo Weaving (The Matrix fame + + +) recently popped
in for a special Q&A screening of 'Hearts and Bones'! See a movie with your
significant other, hot date, by yourself, or with a group of friends. You won't
be disappointed at The Ritz. Amazing decor, service and value for money. At the
great prices you will be able to start to carve our a career as a movie reviewer
or film historian - or, you can just escape the world situations and float away
into Hollywood and beyond via this Randwick icon. Let us know how you find your
movie experience. We're going to be spending a lot more time there. No, we don't
kiss and tell. No telling, but yes to drinks, bites and escapism.
