The
City2Surf has been won by western Sydney athlete Brad
Milosevic in a time of 42 minutes and 15 seconds.
The
first-placed woman was Queenslander Cassandra Fien
with a time of 46 minutes and 39 seconds.
Milosevic
beat 80,000 other runners, improving on his second
placing last year.
Prime
Minister Tony Abbott is among the people pounding
the pavement in Sydney's City to Surf, the world's
biggest fun run.
It's
a 14km route from the city centre to Bondi Beach,
including the infamous 'heartbreak hill'.
Marathon
runners and elite wheelchair athletes took off first
on a sunny Sunday, to be followed by fanatics, fancy
dress funsters, pensioners and mums with prams.
Now
in its 45th year, the annual event has so far raised
close to $4 million for charity.
Roads
between Sydney's CBD and the eastern suburbs are closed,
with drivers warned of traffic delays.
