There have been some big raps around for Rugby League
documentary maker Richard Bradley's latest video release,
The Mighty Eels Vol II. The documentary covers the
period (1967-1977) just before the club's golden era
of premiership dominance and is more than just a sporting
history. With interviews of some 60 players and officials,
it is also a history of the area. John Quayle, John
Peard, Ray Price and Mick Cronin are among the Parramatta
legends who feature. It is good to see a club like
Parramatta, who have been without success for some
years, embrace their gloriously successful past days.
Bradley's work follows on from his remarkably comprehensive
- and soon to be completed - 13-hour video history
of the North Sydney Bears, released in six volumes.
