Following the tradition of Media Man, we interview one of Australia's greatest creative artists, make-up and body painter entrepreneur, the wonderfully talented and multi-award winning Eva Rinaldi.

What is your background?

I was born in Italy, came to Australia when I was 3 years old and grew up in Leichhardt. My family is pretty huge family 3 brothers and 3 sisters if it wasn't for them I would have grown up pretty lonely.

I have been through a lot of ups and downs in the last few years; it's all been an incredible learning experience for me.

I have really learned who is always there for me, supporting me, my parents, my sisters and brothers, and the rest of my family who love me through good and bad.

I have a much deeper appreciation of them, their strength is my strength. I've learned you don't grow when things are good. You really grow in the tough times.

When you get hurt life gets very real, and then you have to stop and put the world back into focus. I am glad I was forced to do that this year.

I Love People and art, so makeup is like coming home like a craft.

When did you realise you were really onto something with body paint?

I realized I was onto something with body paint when I we first launched our makeup arts festival in 2005.

What's the biggest compliment you have ever received?

The biggest compliment that I would receive is when I see my work published in magazines and people still remember the issue and they compliment you in the street.

When can people see you are your academy?

My Academy open days are Monday to Saturday. Our courses are very affordable courses are $275 and run 10.00am till 4.00pm Saturdays. There are no hidden fees all makeup is included.

What makes a good makeup artist?

Lots of work experience in the industry. I am still learning everyday and jump at every opportunity even if it's not paid.

I don't believe in expensive makeup with all brandings. I believe all makeup is the same and is packaged differently; you don't have to use expensive makeup. The cheap makeup is just as good.

What are some of the highlights of your wonderful career?

My highlights have been working on many films, publishing houses, beautiful models and actors.

What I do to relax?

Horse riding in the country, clay target shooting. I would love to retire on a huge acreage someday with plenty of sheep and cattle.

Who is the best body paint artist you know, other than yourself?

My best body paint artists that I have known would have to be Sahra Bull she recently won the body paint competition in Boden and also won the Fantasy Category at the Australian 2005 Makeup artist festival, she is incredibly talented.

Define beauty for us?

Warm and Fuzzy…. a passionate kiss with someone you love, Colors, bright bold ones.

What is my Philosophy?

Beauty is healing whether we are observing nature, art or enhancing someone's inner beauty with makeup. "True Beauty Comes Within".

My Favourite Colour?

Red, Red, I luuuv Red. Every season I gravitate towards a different colour. Green seems to be the colour for me now, but Red excites me.

My Favourite movie?

Grease for the fabulous style of makeup and design for that film. I can watch a really boring movie if there is a beautiful woman with beautiful makeup.

A movie star I wish I could have met?

Marilyn Monroe I have always been mesmerized by her. And Jerry Lewis….He is so funny.

My Favourite food?

Italian in Italy.

My favourite place on earth?

Where ever I am right now, whenever I am not travelling.

What your motto?

Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart.

Editors note: Eva is one of the most talented and creative people we have ever interviewed, and deserves all of the success she is currently enjoying.
