Story 2:

The BEATTIE government's refusing to come to the table over a native title claim for Mount LINDESAY on the NSW ... Queensland border.

In the biggest native land settlement on the east coast... the NSW government yesterday granted the GITHABUL people over 6-thousand square kilometres of land along the New South Wales Queensland border.

The land includes the base of Mount LINDESAY... but not the peak... which is considered Queensland property.

Senior Custodian of the GITHABUL Tribal Nation DOUG WILLIAMS says it's ridiculous...

"It's a very significant sight to the GITHABUL people.. to think that the bottom side of Mount LINDESAY is in NSW and the crest the top of it is QLD and we've already come to a consent determination on the bottom half and now the QLD government is not consenting to the top ...I find it extraordinary"
