Dave or Dave Hitchen grew up in Qld. He travelled
the world for 6 to 7 years and then decided to head
back and set up business in Rockhampton. He noticed
that Rockhampton attracted a lot of backpackers so
he thought he would set up Beef n' Reef Adventures
to show people what the Aussie outback was really
like!
There
are a number of adventure tours from the one day mainland
tour to 3 day tours which combine the beef and the
reef with overnight options. The tours are reasonably
priced making them an option for those travelling
in the region wanting to go bush!
The
one day tour begins with a unique day of adventure
starting with a swim in a Billabong or a slow walk
through tea trees in search of wildlife. Then Dirt
tracks, back tracks and no-track safari! Visitors
then move into the Capricorn Outback to tickle 1 tonne
Brahman bulls on the cattle farm and swim and raft
down the river.
Get
up close with a vast array of Aussie animals in the
wild ... Kangaroos, Emus, Eagles and more. Be close
but safe as Dave finds and handles snakes, spiders,
scorpions and more in the wild.
The
trip runs from around 10am - 6pm. Dave collects his
guests at their Rockhampton accommodation or hostel.
Guests can also add camping to their day trip and
keep the fun going through an outback sunset and beyond.....
