Louise Whelan Photography Exhibition

Award wining photographer Louise Whelan's latest exhibition opens at the Iain Howell Gallery Balmain on Friday August 4 from 6-9pm. It runs until August 17th.

Whelan is presenting three diverse bodies of work - Sydney an Aerial Perspective, Sydney Night Moves and Sydney's Burlesque Beauties.

The exhibition will be opened by Australia's adventurer and entrepreneur Dick Smith.
In attendance at the opening will be some of Sydney's Burlesque beauties, The Bella Donna's, Wendy Woo, Rachel St James, Gypsy Germaine, Sarina del Fuego and Kira Hula La.

Sydney an Aerial Perspective. Whelan's images have a distinctive style blurring the line between reality and abstract .Small extraction of Sydney from the air, transform to abstract images in print. An aerial representation of Sydney not seen before.

Sydney's Burlesque Beauties. These images are a celebration of the Burlesque revival . Whelan captures the stars of Burlesque on and off the stage both poetically and with a documentary purpose.

Sydney Night Moves. A series of funky photographs taken at night and in low light, with all effects produced in camera.
