Lola The Vamp

Lola The Vamp is Australia’s highest profile showgirl and a swiftly rising star around the globe.

An opulent damsel of deshabille, Lola’s influences are a few decades older than most Nouveau-Burlesque goddesses, with her showgirl's heart set firmly in Belle Époque Paris and Art Nouveau. Lola The Vamp lives at the crossroads of Parisian Cabaret and American Striptease.

The biggest draw in Australian burlesque, she has traveled from the Edinburgh Festival to Sydney to Hollywood, Melbourne, Las Vegas and back again. A figure of controversy, Lola has notoriously lost her pasties at international burlesque events and even had Queensland politicians expressing their disapproval!

Her acts have received international acclaim "Lola's strips have real tease" The Scotsman, "Ravishing to look at...know a thing or two about sex and sensuality...(and) showbiz" The Times, "I was spellbound by her Serpentine Dance" Kitten on the Keys, San Francisco, "beautifully erotic" UK review. Yumi Stynes of Channel V declared Lola had “jaws dropping across the country" and placed her 2005 backstage shimmy as their number 2 highlight of the entire Big Day Out tour!

Widely quoted in rags such as San Francisco Chronicle, The Australian, Style Magazine, Men’s Style, WA News, jjj radio, ABC Radio and Ireland’s Sugar Shack, Lola recently published in Griffith Review’s The Next Big Thing. (Credit: The Bulesque Ball official website)
