Now that we are all cosy together on the downstairs
level we’re trying out a new twist on live music
at The Hellfire Club, with a one-off appearance by
a way-cool young trio called Bang Bang Club. We saw
them live and loved them so much we asked them to
come and play. Catch them between 9:30pm-11:00pm and
in the meantime, here’s what they have to say
about themselves:
“A
bit about Bang Bang Club: formerly "They",
BBC is a live/DJ construct that had a release on Creative
Vibes all those years ago back in 2000. Since then,
DJ Tokoloshe has been off globetrotting landing a
year and half residency at the Asylum in London, as
well as DJing all over the bloody place in Sydney
(not much release wise since "Rookie Years"
in 2000 which received Album of the Year in it's genre
in 3D World Mag - but don't worry, you'll hear plenty
soon).
Singer
Miss Donne, has meanwhile had an acclaimed solo release
through The Frequency Lab, whilst performing at oodles
of gigs including solo performances at the Basement.
And Campbell McGuiness, keys/Rhodes extraordinaire,
apart from occasionally gracing us with his playing
ability has been in constant demand touring Australia
and Europe with the likes of Deepchild, Entropic and
The Phonies. At Hellfire, BBC will be performing with
Michael Wheatley of Dirty Carpet Disco fame, again,
one of the most in-demand & hard working keyboard
players in Sydney. Overall, an exceptionally talented
and good-looking band!! Hooray!”

Speaking
of those curious exhibitionistic beasts, we’re
in for two big bent treats for your eyes in July.
At
11:00pm Supergirl goes head-to-head with Mark from
DV8 House, but he’s been OS and I had no idea
what they were doing! So of course I just asked Ultra
if she could illuminate us further. Here’s what
she had to say:
“As
Mark from DV8 House has only just returned from being
the darling of the International Rope Scene, I have
very little I can say about this show. But I can tell
you that Mark is a skilled rigger who has just been
learning even more tricks on a decadent world tour.
Beyond
going to Shibaricon, he hit the Japanese SM clubs
with Osada Steve, rigging and performing and bringing
back to the West lots of sexy new ties influenced
by Steve himself.
Now,
about their Hellfire show... I do know from past scenes
I have witnessed between Mark and Supergirl, that
the show will involve pure raunch, sexual chemistry,
and a very naughty little ROPE SLUT. I’ve been
told by someone who usually finds rope shows slow
and boring, that their show rehearsal was truly hot,
with lots of acrobatics, spins & some pretty amazing
stuff!”
Then
our 01:00am show will be keeping it unreal with some
perverse uses for prosthetic penises (kindly donated
by our friends at Home Grown http://www.hg.ftm-alliance.org
) starring those ever-nubile nymphettes of nasty naughtiness,
Princess and Angel.

The
Hellfire Club: First Principles
The
Hellfire Club is Sydney's first and best fetish nightclub,
where fetish enthusiasts come together once a month
to dress up, dance, socialise, watch shows, listen
to music and generally party hard.
Since
March 1993, The Hellfire Club has grown to become
the epicentre of Sydney's fetish scene, welcoming
people of all interests and providing a professional
platform for the best perverted performers from Sydney,
Australia and the world.
It
also serves as an ‘entry point’ to the fetish
scene for those that discover that they too prefer
to walk on the wild side, but have no idea where to
start.
We
take a broad view of fetish, beyond the traditions
of leather, latex or PVC, into ‘dressing for
pleasure’ in many forms. We actively encourage
everyone to dress up for Hellfire. The variable door
charge rewards those who have made the most effort
in dressing to express their particular perversion.
It
is a very mixed club. You’ll find varying proportions
of people who identify as straight, bisexual, lesbian,
gay, transgender, queer, intersex and some that defy
even those labels. Which is just as well because we’re
not too keen on labels anyway. Celebrating human sexuality
in all its weird and wonderful diversity is what we¹re
all about, so as long as it doesn’t involve children,
animals or the unwilling then hey, let’s party,
whoever you are!
We’re
also a club that celebrates physical diversity, with
deliciously dirty deviants of all shapes and sizes
dressed to thrill... so no body fascism here thanks!
We
welcome newcomers, remembering what it was like to
be one ourselves.
We
play safe in the knowledge that we respect each others
limits and look out for each other.
But
underlying all this, The Hellfire Club is a club built
around the needs of women. We came to the conclusion
(after years of getting it wrong!) that the key to
making a mixed fetish club night work was in making
women (straight/lesbian/bi whatever) feel comfortable,
safe and uninhibited.
Able
to walk around the club with their breasts out, unmolested
and unremarked, if they feel like it. Able to be tied
up to a rack, knowing that no unwelcome hands or comments
or advances will intrude on their pleasure. Able to
bare their breasts without fear of someone pulling
out a camera, or a mobile phone to take a picture.
Able to be in a space that, though sexually charged,
is also completely safe, because for once the men
know how to behave themselves!
So
we ask a lot of all the people who come to The Hellfire
Club; an open mind, a friendly smile and a strong
sense of respect for each other. But we also need
you to help us keep it special by telling us when
things aren’t as they should be. If there is
ever anything happening at the club that is bothering
you or those around you, please do not hesitate to
alert Master Tom, Ultra or Jen the Door Bitch so that
it may be addressed promptly.
