The Hollywood Reporter network

Now in its 76th year, The Hollywood Reporter covers the business of the entertainment industry via a network of media outlets. They include the print daily and weekly editions, the web site, various electronic-media offerings and high-profile events such as the Key Art Awards and Women in Entertainment.

The Reporter's team of reporters and news editors number more than 60, with representatives in most of the world's major cities.

The Reporter is published by VNU Group B.V., a global information and media company whose trade publications include Billboard and Adweek. VNU also owns the media research specialist ACNielsen. VNU was acquired in May 2006 by Valcon Acquisition B.V., a group of private equity investors.

The first Hollywood-based daily trade newspaper covering the entertainment industry began publishing Sept. 3, 1930. Its founder was William R. Wilkerson, who remained publisher and editor-in-chief of the paper for more than 30 years. VNU acquired The Reporter in 1994. (Credit: The Hollywood Reporter)
