The
World Series of Poker (WSOP) is the oldest, largest,
most prestigious, and most media-hyped gaming
competition in the world and as such Virgin Poker
is NOW running WSOP online satellites.
Now
until 21st June 2009
Join
one of these satellites and win either a €5,000
or €10,000 WSOP package, Virgin Poker will
throw in 100,000 Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Miles
– that’s enough for the winners to
get there for free, and in style!!!
Newcastle
2009
On
the weekend that 100-1 shot Mon Mome won the National
and Shearer returned to the Toon the Virgin Poker
Festival took a trip back north to the Aspers
Casino in Newcastle.
A
capacity field of 200 were primed at the tables
by 2pm and by 2.15pm many were already back at
the bar as monster hands (AA v AA v KK and AA
v KK v QQ were two of many) smashed in to each
other from the off. The chips were flying for
all of Day 1 and by the end there were just 44
battle weary riders left with Emma Warke leading
the field. Day 2 started with another avalanche
of all-ins and once the bubble was past we were
soon down to the final table with Ross Jarvis
now chip leader. By the time we were 4 handed
Kris McLackland had the chip lead and he went
in to heads up against Ross with a 2 to 1 lead.
With both players hitting the 5 on the 10 10 5
flop Ross’ Ace kicker played and from there
he closed the tourney out for a £7000 payday.
Elsewhere
Team Virgin retained our Heads Up crown but didn’t
fare quite so well (8th!!) in our maiden attempt
at the forum challenge, in which Live Pub Poker
League scored a comfortable victory.

Virgin
Poker is all about value. Apologies for the marketing
speak but we've tried to pack as much extra value
into the great game of poker as possible.
That
naturally means freerolls and decent guaranteed
tournaments (without the whole world in them)
but it also means V*POINTS.
V*POINTS
are unique to Virgin Poker and players earn them
for every cash hand played on both tournament
and cash tables. Whether you win or lose you,
every time you play a hand you earn V*POINTS.
Simple. Players can then exchange V*POINTS for
lots of Virgin extras. That's Virgin Atlantic
Flying Club miles, Virgin Vouchers that can be
spent on a variety of things from mobile top-ups
to digital downloads, and of course Virgin Poker
cash for the tables.
You'll
find plenty of action day or night from a range
of games including Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Stud
and 5 Card Draw. The call centre is 24/7 and there's
manager chat for any queries players might have.
Tournaments
run regularly and new players will find a daily
$50 freeroll as well as a 100,000 V*POINT freeroll
every Sunday. There's a full selection of Multi
Table tournaments including a weekly $25,000 guaranteed,
a monthly $100,000 guaranteed tournament and satellites
for all major events including the EPT and WPT.
Naturally
there's also free play on offer at Virgin Poker
but with games starting from 5 cents and a weekly
100,000 V*POINTS freeroll we think you'll get
a taste for the real thing pretty quickly.
