Brian Wilshire

Brian Wilshire started his highly successful radio career at 2NZ Inverell in 1969. After working at 2NZ Inverell, 2TM Tamworth, 2CA Canberra and 2UE in Sydney, Brian made the move to 2GB in June 1979.
Brian celebrated 20 years on the 2GB Evening show in June 1999, having the highest rating show on the station. In fact, the 2GB Evening show has averaged twice the overall station market share for two decades. At present, with 18.9%, Brian has the highest audience share of any program on any Sydney station.

He's well known for originating the much-copied Midnight-Matchmaker, which ran from 1982 to 1991, and the whistle blowing on political and health matters which led to Senator Gareth Evens threatening a Parliamentary investigation of his radio show in 1988.

Brian has written and published four books, including the best-selling Australian book of 1992, "The Fine Print".

Brian shares 5 acres of bushland on Sydney's North-Western outskirts with his wife of 24 years, two children, five cats, two dogs and six chickens. He enjoys a keen interest motor racing, snow skiing, photography, drumming, blues music and travel. He can be heard drumming with the band, "Stringybark", at the Windsor shops on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
