Altira Macau (formally Crown Macau)

Altira Macau (former Crown Macau) is located on the northern side of Macau's Taipa Island. Recent name changes is caused by the soon-to-open Crown Towers Macau in June 2009 as part of the City of Dreams development. It is a self-proclaimed 6-star casino hotel with 220 gaming tables, 500 gaming machines, and 216 guest rooms. At 160 meters, Altira Macau is the highest building in Taipa[1]. It is built and operated by Melco PBL Entertainment, a joint venture by Hong Kong based Melco International Development Limited and Australian based Crown Limited. It opened on May 12, 2007, and James Packer, the then wealthiest man in Australia, was present for the opening ceremony. Chow Yun-Fat is currently Crown Macau's commercial spokesman.
