Now
that Eddie is no longer everywhere, TV gardening hunk
Jamie Durie is making a play for McGuire's old role
as host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
So
are Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Jana Wendt and Tracy
Grimshaw.
That's
according to Sportingbet Australia, which is taking
bets on who will lock in the Millionaire role
on Nine, the network now being run by McGuire.
While
many Nine personality names have made the cut,
the favoured runner is an unnamed "other
contender" at odds of $4 to $1.
"We
had to add this line (category) to the betting
to give punters a fair go," said Sportingbet
Australia chief executive officer Michael Sullivan.
"We
nominated him in light of speculation that Nine
may use this position to lure back an old favourite
like Daryl Somers, Larry Emdur or Red Symons".
Locked
in at number two is handyman Durie at $4.50, followed
by Temptation star Ed Phillips, Ray Martin and
Mike Munro.
A
Current Affairs new host Tracy Grimshaw is the
first female in the tally, coming in ninth at
$26.
Meanwhile,
over at Seven, Sportingbet has former Miss Universe
Jennifer Hawkins favourite to win the Dancing
With the Stars title.
Sunrise
weatherman Grant Denyer is second at $4.60, followed
by Simone Warne.
Kate
Langbroek and Noelene Brown are the longest odds
at $26.
