Dwayne
"The Rock" Johnson shared a picture of his
beautiful family on Instagram, to illustrate what
the holiday spirit meant for him.
"As
my mom pointed out earlier in the day, there was a
time back in '87 when we couldn't even afford Thanksgiving
dinner and was praying someone would invite us over
their house to eat," he wrote.
"We
were in a tough spot back then, but we got thru it,"
he added.
"And
here we are today. One big, extended, blended, slightly
crazy, loving, grateful ohana."
The
former WWE superstar, who cut his teeth on the regional
pro wrestling circuit (USWA etc) has been named Forbes
second highest paid actor of the year, having earned
$65m in 2017.
The
45-year-old star is known for his role in the Fast
And Furious franchise and other hits including Baywatch
and the upcoming Jumanji reboot. He's also looking
to get up Hobb's, an offshoot from the Fast franchise,
which is getting a mixed reaction from his former
co stars.
He
said it was "beautiful seeing and listening to
everyone speak from their heart" this year during
Thanksgiving dinner, traditional holiday in the US.
In
the post, Johnson also joked about being dethroned
as People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive by country
singer and TV star Blake Shelton.
Johnson,
who came top last year, said: "Personally, I'm
a little surprised no one expressed how thankful they
were that THE Sexiest Man Alive (I refuse to relinquish
my title to Blake Shelton or any man) was sitting
at the table".
"I
didn't want to be a d*** and interrupt the prayer,"
he said
"But
at some point someones gotta address the elephant
in the room."
Mr.
Johnson is as nice in person to fans and news media
as he comes across on television and the big screen,
as I have experienced in person, having spoke to 'The
Great One' at a movie premier in Sydney.
