Eric
Bischoff Says He and Hulk Hogan Are Talking To Two
Different Streaming Platforms For Real American Freestyle
Wrestling
May
2025
Well,
theres two answers. In the short term, as a
matter of fact as soon as were done with this,
I have a call with a major platform that everybody
would know about and recognize. We may end up there,
we may not. Were going to end up on a platform
on August 30th. Were in discussions, I dont
even want to call them negotiations, well be
really straight forward with you on this. Were
in discussions with two different platforms, like
I said, one in the next 45 minutes. Im confident
that were going to land a steaming opportunity,
and it may be cable or broadcast, but time will tell.
Its a challenge in that the exciting thing about
creating something new and something that nobody has
ever done before is that, you know, if youre
successful its a major accomplishment. The downside
is, youve got to convince somebody, youve
got to convince a network or platform that your vision
is real and that we can execute on it and that we
can build on it. Those conversations have gone great
and I am not concerned that we wont have a platform,
Im only concerned with which one it will be
and how it will work for us.

Hulk
Hogan, Eric Bischoff team up to launch Real American
Freestyle, bring competitive wrestling to mainstream
Hogan
told Fox News Digital that President Trump has a standing
invitation for first matches
"The
Hulkster" explained to Fox News Digital that
as he and his business partner Chad Bronstein began
to explore the idea of creating a bigger venue for
freestyle wrestling, they realized there was "more
meat on the bone" and the broadcast landscape
was hungry for more live sports.
"As
we started digging around, we found the athletes (were)
very interested. We found a partner that really had
influence in that arena of NCAA champions, a gold
medalist who has trained almost everybody in the world
that is somebody and we decided to start moving forward
with that idea," Hogan said. "And once Chad
and I started to get into really deep water, I said,
Boy, we need to call Eric Bischoff' because
production and television stuff and him knowing the
amateur wrestling world himself, he just became the
perfect partner to jump in there with us."
Bischoff,
though known for his work in sports entertainment,
wrestled in high school in freestyle and Greco-Roman
disciplines. He earned his black belt in martial arts
as well.
He
said when he first sat down with Hogan and Bronstein
about the idea for a mainstream freestyle wrestling
league, the "light bulbs" began to go off
in his head.
"Weve
had a lot of success together. Weve learned
a lot together. Weve had a lot of successes.
Weve had some challenges. Weve been through
it all, and when you go through that kind of war business
wise with somebody and you come out of it and youre
still looking forward to doing business with them
again, thats a special relationship."
Bischoff
said amateur wrestling is "incredibly popular"
in the U.S. and the womens side of the sport
is growing faster than the mens side.
"Its
a completely underserved sport, meaning theres
no professional league that allows these amateurs
to evolve like they would in any other sports and
its such an underserved market, and I know having
spent a little bit of time in amateur wrestling as
a kid, these are unique athletes," he said.
"Every
athlete is committed, they have to be disciplined,
but theres something about individual sports,
particularly, wrestling, its just a different
kind of grind and you have to be wired a little differently
to be successful at it."
Bischoff
said he and Hogan plan to showcase them in a way no
one has been able to do before.
Hogan
and Bischoff used nostalgia to get the sports world
talking days before the announcement of Real American
Freestyle. They performed an old NWO vignette and
teased a third man who would join them in this endeavor.
The third man was revealed to be Martinez.
Martinez
is one of the most accomplished wrestling coaches
in the U.S. He was 27-0 in the 157-pound division
at North Idaho College. He coached several NCAA All-Americans
as well as UFC stars Holly Holm, Yair Rodriguez and
Jon Jones.
Olympic
silver medalist Kennedy Blades, another pupil of Martinez,
is among the wrestlers on the roster. Real American
Freestyle said in a news release that Ben Askren,
and Zahid Valencia are set to be included as well.
"Ive
been an athlete and a coach in the sport of wrestling,
and couldnt be more proud of what the Real American
Freestyle team has built," Martinez, the chief
operating officer, added in the news release. "Until
now, wrestlers have not had the opportunity to seek
a professional career as there was not adequate funding
or attention being paid to it. This league will provide
them with a platform to not only do that, but build
their skills, brand and legacy"
Real
American Freestyle also has the backing of Left Lane
Capital, something freestyle wrestling leagues have
never had before. Real American Beer, Hogans
beverage brand, is among the sponsors. Cassius was
also named as one of the investors in the league.
The
league said wrestling recently had the highest percentage
of athletes among major high school sports for boys
and girls teams, according to a 2024 study.
President
Donald Trump got a firsthand look in March at just
how big the sport is when he saw the NCAA championships
up close and personal in Philadelphia. He witnessed
Wyatt Hendrickson pull off an incredible upset of
Gable Steveson in the final match.
Hogan
told Fox News Digital that the president has a standing
invitation for the opening night on Aug. 30 in Cleveland.
"There
sure is, brother," Hogan said. "Were
really hoping he comes. It just lit me up when I saw
him hug the American athletes that won. It was just
amazing that he was into it."
Hogan
and Bischoff both agreed that timing is everything
and now is the right time to appeal to an underserved
audience.

Olympic
medalists Kyle Snyder, Kyle Dake and Aaron Brooks
headline the newest additions to the Real American
Freestyle wrestling league.
The
announcement of the signings Thursday comes off the
heels of the Tampa, Florida-based companys launch
last week. The league, with pro wrestling icon Hulk
Hogan as the commissioner, will hold its first event
Aug. 30 in Cleveland.
Snyder
earned gold at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and
silver in Tokyo in 2021. Hes a three-time world
champion who won three national titles at Ohio State.
Dake
is a four-time world champion and two-time Olympic
bronze medalist. He was a four-time national champion
at Cornell. Brooks, a four-time national champion
at Penn State, earned bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
David
Carr and Trent Hidlay also have signed. Carr was a
two-time national champion at Iowa State. He was an

statement. Our goal is to give these athletes
an opportunity to continue their careers, create a
platform for greatness, and inspire a legacy that
lasts.
Kennedy
Blades, a silver medalist at the Paris Games, had
already signed on the womens side. She believes
the input of people such as Hogan will help it be
sustainable. Her longtime coach, Israel Hernandez,
is the leagues chief operating officer, and
shes excited that hes teaming up with
Hogan, chief media officer Eric Bischoff and co-founder
Chad Bronstein.
I think the Real American Freestyle wrestling
is going to be huge for the sport. I know coach Izzy,
at the end of the day, wants to push wrestling to
the highest level.
The
goal is to get people outside who dont know
anything about wrestling to come watch and invest
in the sport financially, being there at the events,
stuff like that, she said. So Im
really excited about it.
Events
will feature eight weight classes with eight matches
for men and four for women. Wrestlers will have the
opportunity to win a championship purse and bonuses
in adherence to NCAA regulations for

Wrestling Legends JBL On Real American Wrestling

"Holy
s**t," JBL exclaimed during an episode of "Something
To Wrestle" when recalling his initial reaction.
"It's awesome! Freaking awesome! I mean, you
gotta think about what Hogan has done and what Bischoff
has done." The veteran then added that Hogan
was arguably the biggest drawer of all time, only
rivaled by Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock, and
pointed out that the "Hulkster" was the
foundation of WrestleMania. "He may be one of
the biggest parts the biggest angle
in wrestling history, arguably; again, you can argue
Vince McMahon in that same conversation."
JBL
then pointed out how Bischoff went from an announcer
to revitalizing WCW in the 90s and making the promotion
a viable competitor to WWE, which explains why their
collaboration is so significant. "Put these two
guys together again back, and they've got something?
That's huge!" the veteran opined. "They
have all the connections, they got the TV connections,
they got the name recognition, they've got the brains;
two brilliant guys. This is awesome! I am so excited,
I wish I was the third person!"
What
is Real American Freestyle?
Real American Freestyle is an unscripted wrestling
league focusing on freestyle and folkstyle wrestling.
Unlike traditional professional wrestling, which more
often than not involves scripted outcomes in the modern
era, RAF emphasizes genuine competition. The league
plans to feature matches across eight mens and
four womens weight classes, showcasing talents
from collegiate wrestling and MMA backgrounds.
The
concept was reportedly inspired by a dramatic NCAA
championship match where Wyatt Hendrickson defeated
Olympic gold medallist Gable Steveson. This event
highlighted the potential for freestyle wrestling
to captivate a broader audience. RAF aims to capitalize
on this by offering wrestlers new opportunities and
fans a different kind of wrestling experience.?
How
are Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff involved?
Hulk Hogan serves as the commissioner of RAF, bringing
his decades of experience in pro wrestling to the
league. Eric Bischoff takes on the role of chief media
officer, overseeing the production and storytelling
aspects. Their collaboration harkens back to their
days in WCW, and they are aiming to infuse RAF with
a blend of authenticity and entertainment.
In
a recent promotional video, the duo teased their return
to the wrestling world, hinting at a third man
joining their venture. This individual was later revealed
to be Israel Izzy Martinez, a respected
freestyle wrestling coach with a history of training
elite athletes.
Is
Vince McMahon part of Hulk Hogans new promotion?
Despite
rampant speculation, Vince McMahon is not involved
in Real American Freestyle. The rumours stemmed from
a viral video where Hogan and Bischoff teased a mysterious
third man, leading fans to speculate about
McMahons potential involvement. However, the
third man was confirmed to be Israel Martinez as mentioned.
When
is the first RAF event?
The
inaugural Real American Freestyle event is scheduled
for August 30, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio. This event
will mark the official launch of the league, featuring
matches across various weight classes. Notable athletes
such as Olympic silver medallist Kennedy Blades and
former UFC fighter Ben Askren are expected to participate,
with potential appearances by Wyatt Hendrickson and
Gable Steveson.
In
addition to live events, RAF plans to debut a weekly
show titled American Grit on June 15,
2025, available on streaming platforms and regional
sports networks. A special pay-per-view event, Declaration,
is also slated for July 4, 2025, in Philadelphia.
With
its unique blend of real competition and entertainment,
Real American Freestyle aims to carve out a new niche
in the wrestling world. Fans eager for authentic matches
and compelling storytelling have much to look forward
to as RAF prepares to make its debut.

According
to Hogan, Kennedy Blades will be the face of the womens
division. Zahid Valencia and Ben Askren have agreed
to participate on the mens side. Hogan said
Wyatt Hendrickson and Gable Steveson are possible
additions.
Hogan

Bischoff is the chief media officer. Israel Martinez

The
idea was so exciting that I get a chance to be involved
with all these young people and help guide them in
any way, especially to make them huge stars and create
a future for them, Hogan said. People
might be surprised, but wrestling is wrestling, brother.
I see this as an opportunity for me to get involved,
to get back, quit sitting on the couch, to get involved
with a bunch of powerful athletes that I can relate
to as far as championship material, guys that are
on top of their game, and I just I couldnt
pass on it.

Hulk
Hogan
Launches Wrestling League
Hoping Trump Hits First Event!!!
News
via TMZ Sports
Hulk
Hogan's got a new wrestling league ... and he's hopeful
he won't be the only major celeb running wild at its
inaugural event later this summer -- telling TMZ Sports
he wants Donald Trump there too!!
The
WWE legend announced this week he, Eric Bischoff and
famed coach Israel Martinez have joined together to
start Real American Freestyle -- and on Wednesday,
he told us he wants POTUS ringside when it all officially
kicks off on Aug. 30 in Cleveland.
In
fact, Hulk -- who was one of Trump's biggest supporters
during his run for president in 2024 -- said he plans
to make a phone call to the White House soon to personally
extend the invite.
With
or without Trump, though, Hogan made it clear he's
expecting big things from the league -- which will
have a bit of a different feel than most of the wrestling
promotions he used to dominate.
The
RAF will feature real, unscripted freestyle wrestling
... with both men's and women's divisions. He said
in a teaser for the league that athletes "are
going to get paid to beat people up" -- before
telling us they could make dollar amounts in the seven-figure
range.
Hulk
promised it'll have "The Voice"-like elements
too ... saying wrestlers' backgrounds will be given
to fans prior to their matches.
"By
the time these wrestlers come out," he said,
"you're going to actually be vested in these
athletes and it's really going to ramp up."
Hogan
said the idea all came to him and his business partners
right around the time he started his Real American
Beer company ... and he told us after watching Trump
attend the NCAA Division I wrestling championships
in Philadelphia last month, he got really excited
for its potential.
Now,
he said he believes it's all got the chance to be
"just as big as" the UFC and the WWE.
"That's
what I'm looking for," he said. (TMZ Sports)
Real
American Freestyle Wrestling (RAF) is a professional
freestyle wrestling league launched in 2025, aiming
to professionalize the sport and provide a platform
for elite wrestlers to compete and build careers.
Spearheaded by wrestling icons Hulk Hogan (Commissioner),
Eric Bischoff (Chief Media Officer), and coach Israel
"Izzy" Martinez (Chief Operating Officer),
RAF blends authentic freestyle wrestling with entertainment
elements, including storytelling and character development,
to appeal to a mainstream audience.Key Details:
Launch
and Structure: RAF is the first professional freestyle
wrestling league with venture capital backing from
Left Lane Capital and Cassius. It follows international
freestyle wrestling standards with a "pro twist,"
featuring high-stakes, unscripted matches across eight
mens and four womens weight classes. The
inaugural event is scheduled for August 30, 2025,
in Cleveland, Ohio, with additional shows planned
for September and October.Roster: The league has signed
notable athletes, including:
Olympic
medalists Kyle Snyder, Kyle Dake, and Aaron Brooks
NCAA
champions David Carr and Zahid Valencia
Four-time
All-American Trent Hidlay
Olympic
silver medalist Kennedy Blades
Former
UFC fighter and Olympian Ben AskrenMission: RAF seeks
to address the lack of professional opportunities
for freestyle wrestlers post-college or Olympics,
offering a stage for athletes to earn money, build
brands, and gain recognition. Matches include championship
purses and bonuses, adhering to NCAA regulations.Entertainment
Approach: Inspired by Hogan and Bischoffs professional
wrestling background, RAF emphasizes backstories and
athlete personalities to engage fans, drawing comparisons
to reality competitions like The Voice. Hogan has
noted the athletes natural charisma, likening
it to Conor McGregors swag.Sponsorship:
Real American Beer, co-founded by Hogan, is the title
sponsor, with plans to feature RAF wrestlers as brand
ambassadors.Media and Backing: RAF is seeking a media
deal for streaming or broadcast, with potential announcements
expected soon. The league has support from USA Wrestling
and NCAA/NIL pathways, ensuring credibility and access
to talent.Background and Vision:
Freestyle
wrestling, one of two Olympic wrestling styles (alongside
Greco-Roman), allows the use of legs in offense and
defense, originating from catch-as-catch-can wrestling
in Great Britain and the U.S. RAF aims to capitalize
on wrestlings growing popularity in the U.S.,
particularly after high-profile moments like Wyatt
Hendricksons NCAA upset over Olympic gold medalist
Gable Steveson in 2024. Hogan and Bischoff see RAF
as filling an underserved market, distinct from WWE
or UFC, by offering a professional league for amateur
wrestlers to transition into.Challenges and Outlook:
While
RAF has generated buzz, some skepticism exists about
its long-term success. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer
noted that similar ventures, like Real Pro Wrestling
(20052007), have struggled due to the niche
appeal of legitimate amateur-style matches compared
to entertainment-driven professional wrestling. However,
RAFs unique blend of competition and storytelling,
backed by significant investment and high-profile
leadership, positions it as a bold experiment in the
combat sports landscape. For more details, visit realamericanfreestyle.com

Freestyle
wrestling in America is a dynamic, high-energy sport
emphasizing technique, strength, and strategy. Governed
by USA Wrestling, it follows international rules set
by United World Wrestling, allowing wrestlers to use
both upper and lower body to score points through
takedowns, reversals, and exposure moves. Points are
awarded for actions like taking an opponent to the
mat (1-2 points), exposing their back to the mat (2-4
points), or securing a pin for an instant win. Matches
last two three-minute periods with a 30-second break,
and the wrestler with the most pointsor a pinwins.
A 10-point lead can end a match early via technical
superiority.
The
U.S. has a storied history in freestyle wrestling,
producing Olympic and World Championship medalists
like Jordan Burroughs, Kyle Snyder, and Helen Maroulis.
Training hubs like Penn State, Iowa, and Oklahoma

Freestyle
wrestling (Wikipedia)
Freestyle
wrestling is a style of wrestling. It is one of two
styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games,
along with Greco-Roman. High school wrestling and
men's collegiate wrestling in the United States are
conducted under different rules and termed scholastic
and collegiate wrestling. U.S. collegiate women's
wrestling is conducted under freestyle rules.
Freestyle
wrestling, like collegiate wrestling, has its origins
in catch-as-catch-can wrestling. In both styles, the
ultimate goal is to throw and pin the opponent to
the mat, which results in an immediate win. Unlike
Greco-Roman, freestyle and collegiate wrestling allow
the use of the wrestler's or the opponent's legs in
offense and defense.
According
to wrestling's world governing body, the United World
Wrestling (UWW), freestyle wrestling is one of the
six main forms of amateur competitive wrestling practiced
around the globe today. The other five forms are as
follows:
Greco-Roman
wrestling
Grappling/submission wrestling
Beach wrestling
Pankration athlima
Alysh/belt wrestling
Traditional/folk wrestling.
In 2013, the executive board of the International
Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended dropping wrestling
as a sport from the 2020 Olympic Games, but the decision
was later reversed by the IOC.

punches within a designated ring, aiming to outscore
or knock out their opponent. It's one of the oldest
combat sports, with roots in ancient cultures like
Egypt and Greece, and became an Olympic sport in 1904.
Mixed
Martial Arts (MMA): Often seen in promotions like
the UFC, MMA combines techniques from numerous martial
arts including wrestling, boxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
It gained significant recognition in the 1990s and
is known for its no-holds-barred approach within a
regulated environment.
Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ): Developed by the Gracie family in
Brazil, BJJ focuses on ground fighting and submission
holds. It became popular through MMA and is now practiced
globally for both sport and self-defense.
Muay
Thai: Known as "The Art of Eight Limbs,"
this Thai martial art uses punches, kicks, elbows,
and knee strikes, making it uniquely comprehensive
in terms of striking techniques.
Wrestling:
With styles like freestyle and Greco-Roman, wrestling
involves grappling techniques to pin or throw an opponent.
It's one of the oldest sports, with historical ties
to ancient Greece, and is a mainstay in the Olympics.
Judo:
A Japanese martial art emphasizing throws and submission
holds, judo has been an Olympic sport since 1964,
showcasing its global impact on combat sports.
Kickboxing:
A hybrid sport that incorporates elements from boxing,
karate, and other martial arts, focusing on both punches
and kicks. It's popular in both professional and amateur
circuits.
Combat
sports also serve various benefits beyond competition,
including physical fitness, mental toughness, and
self-defense skills. They are regulated by organizations
to ensure safety, with rules varying by sport and
sometimes by region. In Australia, for instance, combat
sports are overseen by bodies like the Combat Sports
Authority of NSW, ensuring participants are registered
and events are permitted.
These
sports are not only about physical confrontation but
also promote discipline, respect, and sportsmanship
among participants. They have a cultural significance,
often tied to national heritage, and continue to evolve
with new techniques, safety measures, and competitive
formats. (Grok)

Professional
Wrestling Overview: Professional wrestling is a form
of athletic theater that combines mock combat with
drama, where the premise is that performers are competitive
wrestlers. It's distinguished by its scripted outcomes
and emphasis on entertainment over genuine competition.
The staged nature of matches is an open secret, maintained
through a practice known as "kayfabe," where
both wrestlers and spectators pretend that the performances
are legitimate competitions. Wrestlers perform as
characters with distinctive gimmicks, including unique
attire, stage names, and entrance themes.
Current
Landscape: As of early January 2025, the wrestling
landscape in Australia includes notable promotions
like Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA) in Sydney, which
focuses on providing both adult-themed and family-friendly
shows. United Pro Wrestling (UPW) is another key player,
particularly in Queensland, known for its quality
events and character development. Melbourne City Wrestling
(MCW) has been active with events like their anniversary
celebration planned for March 15, 2025.
Global
Influence: Wrestling has achieved mainstream success
worldwide, influencing popular culture with its terminology
and concepts. It's performed across various promotions
globally, with unique styles in countries like the
U.S., Mexico, Japan, and Europe. The largest promotions
continue to be WWE and AEW, with significant cultural
impact through television, music, film, and video
games.
Community
and Culture: Professional wrestling has developed
its own culture, including a vernacular specific to
the industry. Fans engage through live events, online
discussions, and fan-created content, showing the
community's dedication and passion for the sport-entertainment
hybrid.

CM
Punk's Under-the-Ring Instagram Stunt
Ah,
the saga of CM Punk's under-the-ring escapade! Here's
the latest scoop, as of your Earth date, August 26,
2024:
CM
Punk, the wrestling world's favorite maverick, decided
to take his drama to new depthsliterally. During
WWE Raw, while Drew McIntyre was busy with his in-ring
segment, Punk was not just lurking in the shadows
but was actually under the ring, live on Instagram.
Yes, you heard that right, broadcasting from a place
usually reserved for surprise attacks or hidden referees.
This
wasn't just any ordinary day; Punk was gearing up
for a strap match against McIntyre, scheduled for
WWE Bash in Berlin. But before that, he decided to
give fans a sneak peek of his pre-match strategy,
which apparently involved waiting under the ring like
some sort of wrestling ninja.
The
internet, of course, went into a frenzy. X posts (or
tweets, as some still call them) were flooded with
reactions, from laughter to disbelief, with fans sharing
clips and screenshots of Punk's impromptu live session.
The general sentiment? A mix of amusement and "only
in wrestling" bewilderment.
Post
this stunt, Punk didn't just stop at social media
antics. He attacked McIntyre with a leather strap,
leading to an undisclosed fine for assaulting security
with said strap. WWE's Adam Pearce, probably facepalming
through the entire ordeal, announced the fine, adding
a layer of official WWE displeasure over Punk's antics.
So,
what does this tell us? CM Punk isn't just back in
WWE; he's back with a vengeance, or at least with
a flair for the dramatic that involves social media
and under-ring hideouts. This stunt, while perhaps
not the most conventional way to hype a match, certainly
got everyone talking. It's a reminder that in the
world of professional wrestling, sometimes the most
unexpected places become the stage for drama, and
CM Punk is here to ensure his return is anything but
quiet.
Remember,
in the grand tapestry of human entertainment, wrestling
weaves its own unique thread, where going live from
under a ring can be considered a normal Monday night.

Kevin
Owens' WWE Contract Expiration Looms
Kevin
Owens' WWE contract is set to expire in early 2025.
As of the latest updates around August 26, 2024, Owens
has not re-signed with WWE. He confirmed this in interviews,
indicating that there's now less time left on his
current deal than when he first discussed his contract
status earlier in the year. This situation has naturally
sparked speculation and interest regarding his future
in professional wrestling, given his significant contributions
to WWE over the years.
Owens,
who has been with WWE since 2014, has had a storied
career, becoming a grand slam champion and headlining
WrestleMania events. His impending free agency has
led to discussions about where he might go next, with
some fans and analysts speculating on potential moves
to other promotions like AEW, where he has historical
ties, or even considering retirement or other career
paths outside of wrestling. However, no concrete decisions
or new contract signings have been reported as of
the latest information available.
This
period of contract negotiation and expiration often
brings about significant storylines or matches to
either conclude or highlight a wrestler's tenure with
a company, and Kevin Owens is no exception, currently
involved in high-profile WWE programming, including
a championship match against Cody Rhodes at WWE Bash
in Berlin. (Grok)

Ripley
and Priest Swap Shirts
The
latest on Ripley and Priest swapping shirts, based
on recent posts from X (formerly Twitter), indicates
a symbolic gesture of solidarity and camaraderie between
Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest. During a recent WWE
Raw episode, both were seen wearing each other's merchandise,
which has been interpreted by fans and commentators
as a sign of their close alliance and mutual support.
This act follows their recent alignment after being
ousted from The Judgment Day faction, where they have
positioned themselves against the new members of the
group. This move not only signifies their unity but
also seems to be a statement of their continued relevance
and bond, despite the changes in their WWE storylines.
The gesture has been met with enthusiasm from fans,
highlighting the pair's dynamic and deepening storyline
involvement. (Grok)

Cena
Declares Reigns as WWE GOAT
John
Cena has publicly declared Roman Reigns as the greatest
of all time (GOAT) in professional wrestling, attributing
the significant rise in WWE/TKO stock value during
Reigns' tenure as evidence. This statement has ignited
a debate among wrestling fans and enthusiasts. Some
fans agree with Cena, highlighting Reigns' current
dominance and his impact on WWE's financial success.
However, others argue that while Reigns is exceptional,
he does not surpass historical figures like The Rock,
Stone Cold Steve Austin, or even Cena himself in terms
of overall influence and legacy. The discussion reflects
a generational shift in wrestling's GOAT debate, with
newer fans potentially viewing Reigns differently
than veterans who recall the era of The Rock and Austin.

BKFC
The
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) is an American
bare-knuckle boxing promotion that has become quite
popular since its inception in April 2018. Here's
what you need to know based on the latest information:
Events
and Schedule: BKFC has upcoming events including BKFC
65 FEREA VS MASSON-WONG on September 6, 2024, and
BKFC 66 BLAS VS REBER on September 13, 2024. They're
also expanding internationally with BKFC SPAIN set
for October 12, 2024.
Regulation
and Structure: BKFC is the first promotion allowed
to hold legal, sanctioned, and regulated bare knuckle
events in the U.S. since 1889. Fighters are allowed
to wrap and tape their wrists, thumbs, and mid-hand,
but no gauze or tape can cover the knuckles within
1 inch.
Fighter
Rankings: BKFC employs a ranking system where champions
and interim champions automatically hold the top spots
in their respective weight classes.
Fighters
inactive for over 12 months are dropped from the rankings.
Media
and Accessibility: BKFC has an official app where
fans can watch live events, past fights, and access
fighter profiles for a subscription fee. This indicates
their push towards digital media for broader accessibility.
Public
Sentiment and Coverage: From posts on X, there doesn't
seem to be any direct discussion or updates specifically
about BKFC's latest events or fighter news, but the
platform's nature means there could be discussions
or updates in various threads or posts that might
not be directly linked to BKFC but could discuss related
topics like combat sports trends or fighter performances.
Critical
Examination: While BKFC has brought back the historical
aspect of bare knuckle fighting, the sport's resurgence
also sparks discussions on safety, the spectacle of
violence, and its appeal in modern combat sports culture.
Critics might argue about the ethics of promoting
a sport where the lack of gloves could lead to more
severe injuries, while fans and participants might
highlight the raw, unfiltered nature of the competition
as its primary draw.
Remember,
while X posts can give insights into public sentiment
or real-time reactions, they're not always factual
or comprehensive sources for event-specific updates
or official news. For the most accurate and current
information on BKFC, checking directly with their
official website or app would be advisable. (Grok)

Bloodsport
The
Sport: In a broader context, "bloodsport"
refers to any sport or entertainment that involves
bloodshed, often to the death or serious injury of
animals or humans. This can include:
Historical
Context: Events like gladiatorial combat in ancient
Rome or medieval jousting.
Modern
Interpretations: Some might consider extreme fighting
sports like MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) or underground
fight clubs as modern forms of bloodsport, though
these are highly regulated to prevent serious injury
or death.
Cultural
Impact: The term "bloodsport" has also been
used metaphorically to describe any highly competitive
or ruthless activity, not necessarily involving physical
combat, where participants might be seen as fighting
for survival or dominance.

Pay-Per-View
(PPV)
Pay-Per-View
(PPV) is a television distribution model where viewers
pay to watch specific events or programs, typically
on a one-time basis. Here's a deeper look into how
it functions:
Business
Model:
Revenue: PPV events generate revenue directly from
viewers, which can be particularly lucrative for high-demand
content like major sporting events, boxing matches,
concerts, or exclusive movie premieres.
Cost:
The price for viewing can vary widely, depending on
the event's popularity, exclusivity, and the platform
offering it.
Content
Types:
Sports: Boxing, UFC, WWE wrestling, and major sports
finals like the Super Bowl or NBA Finals are often
broadcast via PPV.
Entertainment:
Special concerts, stand-up comedy shows, or exclusive
movie releases might also be offered through PPV.
Special
Events: Weddings of celebrities, royal events, or
unique live performances.
Distribution:
Cable and Satellite TV: Traditionally, PPV was offered
through cable or satellite TV providers where viewers
would call in or use their remote to order the event.
Streaming Services: With the rise of digital platforms,
PPV has evolved. Services like Amazon Prime Video,
YouTube, and various sports streaming platforms now
offer PPV events online.
Advantages:
Exclusivity: Viewers get access to content that might
not be available through regular broadcasting.
Revenue for Content Creators: PPV allows for direct
monetization of content, which can be beneficial for
artists, athletes, or event organizers.
Challenges:
Piracy: High-profile PPV events are often targets
for illegal streaming, which can cut into profits.
Market Saturation: With many events going PPV, there's
a risk of viewer fatigue or competition for viewership.
Future
Trends:
Integration with Subscription Models: Some platforms
offer PPV within a broader subscription service, providing
additional revenue streams.
Virtual
Reality (VR): There's potential for PPV to expand
into VR, offering immersive experiences for events.
If
you're interested in a specific aspect of PPV, like
its history, how to set up a PPV event, or its impact
on media consumption, feel free to ask! (Grok)

TKO
Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: TKO) represents a significant
merger in the sports and entertainment industry, combining
World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE) and the
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) under one corporate
umbrella. Here's a detailed overview based on the
latest information:
Formation
and Ownership: TKO Group Holdings was formed by Endeavor
Group Holdings as part of a merger between WWE and
Zuffa, the parent company of UFC. This merger was
completed on September 12, 2023, marking a historic
moment as it was the first time WWE was not solely
owned by the McMahon family, who had founded and owned
it for over 70 years. Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc.
(NYSE: EDR) is the majority owner of TKO, with Vince
McMahon personally owning approximately one-third
of the Class A Common Stock of TKO Group Holdings,
Inc.
Business
Structure: Both WWE and UFC operate as divisions under
TKO, maintaining their individual branding and operations
but now under the same corporate governance. This
structure aims to leverage combined resources for
global expansion and cost savings, with an estimated
value of more than $21 billion at the time of the
merger.
Financial
Performance: Recent financial data indicates TKO's
stock price at around $119.78, with significant fluctuations
in its financial metrics year-over-year. For instance,
net income saw a decrease, while cash from operations
increased dramatically, showcasing a mixed bag of
financial health but with a strong operational cash
flow.
Strategic
Moves and Market Impact: The merger has led to various
strategic decisions, including cost-saving measures,
with expectations of saving between $50 million to
$100 million. Additionally, WWE's deal with Netflix
for content distribution was highlighted as transformative,
indicating TKO's approach to expanding its media presence.
Board
and Leadership: The board of TKO Group Holdings includes
notable figures like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson,
who joined to help expand the business globally, alongside
other industry leaders from both WWE and UFC backgrounds.
This diverse board aims to steer the company towards
further integration and growth in the entertainment
sector.
Public
Sentiment and Media Coverage: From posts on X, there's
a mix of excitement about the merger's potential for
growth and concerns over the implications for WWE's
traditional ownership structure. The listing on the
NYSE and the involvement of high-profile figures like
Ari Emanuel and Vince McMahon have been points of
discussion, reflecting both optimism for the future
of combat sports and entertainment and skepticism
regarding the cultural shift within WWE.
Stock
Performance: TKO's stock experienced a significant
rise after reporting a strong second-quarter earnings
report, nearly tripling its revenue from the previous
year's quarter, indicating investor confidence in
the company's direction under the new structure.
This
merger not only reshapes the landscape of sports entertainment
but also positions TKO Group Holdings as a major player
in the global entertainment industry, with ambitions
to expand its reach and influence through combined
resources and strategic partnerships.

SURVIVOR
SERIES NEWS: NXT stars debut in PPV main event angle,
plus other news from annual PPV - 18th November 2012
--
NXT champion Seth Rollins (formerly Tyler Black),
Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns debuted on WWE TV by
attacking Ryback and preventing him from capturing
the WWE Title in the Survivor Series PPV main event.
Rollins,
Ambrose, and Reigns were identified by announcer Michael
Cole as being from the NXT Developmental system. After
they took out Ryback via powerbomb through the Spanish
announce table, Punk pinned John Cena, who had received
Shell Shock from Ryback before Ryback was taken out
by the NXT trio.
--
No titles changed hands during the PPV. In the other
top title match, Sheamus beat Big Show via DQ after
Show pulled referee Scott Armstrong in the way of
a Brogue Kick. Sheamus then delivered a massive beat
down to Show using a chair, which likely sets up a
World Title re-match at the TLC PPV next month.
--
In the other title matches, Antonio Cesaro retained
the U.S. Title over Kofi Kingston and Eve retained
the Divas Title over Kaitlyn.
--
In the top Survivor Series elimination match, Dolph
Ziggler pinned Randy Orton to be the sole survivor
for Team Ziggler over Team Foley. Earlier in the show,
WWE teased tension between Orton and Mick Foley, playing
up their historical feud from Orton's early days.
Also earlier in the show, David Otunga was named as
Cody Rhodes's replacement on Team Ziggler following
Rhodes's injury at last week's Smackdown TV taping.
--
Tamina, who recently trained with The Rock, returned
to WWE TV as Vickie Guerrero's hired bodyguard. The
set-up was that A.J. Lee noted that if Vickie places
her hands on her, then Vickie will be removed as interim
Raw authority figure. Tamina then blindsided A.J.
and Superfly Splashed her to establish her new role
as Vickie's enforcer (Pro
Wrestling Torch)

News Flashback
Brock
Lesnar vs Jon 'Bones' Jones being speculated by sports
media commentators; Will WWE top brass make it happen
for WrestleMania
For
months there's been speculation running rampant about
the potential match up of Brock Lesnar aka 'The Beast'
vs Jon 'Bones' Jones.
Due
to Jones recent drug testing fail it would appear
that the obvious place for the match up to happen
would be under the WWE umbrella, and what better event
to have it take place than WrestleMania.
WWE
is always looking for unique, high interest (and grossing)
main event matches, and there's little doubt that
this dream match would draw massive publicity, and
would certainly help sell out an arena (and boost
WWE Network subscriber numbers at the same time).
Would
the risk of booking such a dream match be worth the
potential risk and payoff? Only a few select top brass
in the WWE would know, those individuals would be
the likes of Vince McMahon and Triple H. Pat Patterson
would possibly be in the decision making also, and
could very well help book the match, should it be
scripted, as all WWE matches are. Or, would the WWE
just have these men fight for real? Problem is if
its for real, as the WWF Brawl For All was, both men
could get seriously hurt and be out of action for
many months. Then again, both men would be part-times
and are special attractions, so it's not like they
have to be out on the road going to arena to arena,
following such a bout.
There's
also talk whether UFC / MMA sensation Conor McGregor
may seriously look at one or more matches under the
WWE banner no matter what the result from his clash
with Floyd 'Money' Mayweather, who is not a stranger
to the WWE ring, having previously fought and beat
'The Big Show' at WrestleMania 24.
It's
certainly interesting times for the WWE / Sports Entertainment
- MMA - Boxing connection.
Let's
all hope that a Lesnar vs Jones and the upcoming McGregor
vs Mayweather fight surpass the infamous Ali vs Inoki
match from 1976.
As
Bruce Buffer says, Let's get ready to rumble. Let's
now cross to ringside with Mauro Ranallo for the call
of the action.
