Sweeney, the 28-year-old Euphoria and The White Lotus

Achievement
in Acting Award at Hamptons International Film Festival:
On October 4, Sweeney received this honor for her
role in the upcoming biographical sports drama Christy,
where she portrays real-life boxer Christy Martin.
She revealed gaining 35 pounds through intense three-month
training and shared her immersive acting philosophy:
"I try to lose myself completely for a role,
so I try not to carry any of my own stuff into their
life." The film is set for release on November
7, 2025, and is already generating early Oscar buzz.
Spotlight
Award at SCAD Savannah Film Festival:
Announced
on October 3, Sweeney will be honored at the 2025
event for her contributions to film.

one of the 2025 recipients on October 3, supporting

The event is scheduled for October 29 in Beverly Hills.

These

Romance
Rumors with Scooter Braun
Sweeney
has been spotted multiple times with music executive
Scooter Braun (44), fueling dating speculation that
began at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's June
wedding in Venice. Recent sightings include a hand-holding
stroll in New York City on October 5, where she wore
a pinstriped mini-dress and business-chic ensemble,
and a Labor Day getaway to Lake Tahoe.
Insiders
describe the relationship as "very real"
and serious, with Braun "very happy" and
offering career advice, but Sweeney is prioritizing
her professional lifeno "wedding bells"
yet. Sources emphasize it's not a fling, and both
families approve of the supportive dynamic.
Braun
attended her space-themed 28th birthday party in September,
where guests dressed as astronauts and aliens.
Fashion
and Brand Buzz
American
Eagle Campaign Defense: The July 2025 "Great
Jeans" ad featuring Sweeney sparked controversy
over themes of genetics and body image, but the brand's
CEO, Jay Schottenstein, stood firm in a Wall Street
Journal interview, stating, "You cant run
from fear. We stand behind what we did." Chief
marketing officer Craig Brommers called her "a
winner," crediting the campaign with unprecedented

latest collection, celebrating feminine expression
through footwear and accessories.
Bathwater
Soap Controversy Update:

red-tinted bathwater item on October 8, which sold
out quicklydrawing comparisons and renewed scrutiny
to Sweeney's venture.

Star
Entertainment is a new operator despite
sins of the past
Inside
Asian Gaming Chief Executive Andrew W Scott says Star
Entertainment will have nothing to do with the sins
of the past.
Ballys
have got the opportunity to say look, were a
new operator, we have nothing to do with the sins
of the past, Mr Scott said.
I
think they didnt want to let it rain to receivership

News
Star
Entertainment: News
Star
Entertainment Group, an Australian casino operator,
has been in the spotlight in April 2025 due to significant
financial and operational developments. Heres
a concise overview of the latest news based on available
information:
Financial
Struggles and Rescue Deal: Star
Entertainment
reported a $300 million half-year loss for the period
ending December 2024, driven by a 25% revenue decline
to $650 million. Stricter payment regulations, including
mandatory pre-paid cards to curb money laundering,
have pushed gamblers toward pubs and clubs, hurting
Stars market share. The company secured a $300
million investment from Ballys Corporation and
Investment Holdings (linked to the Mathieson family),
with $100 million injected in April 2025, providing
critical liquidity. Stars cash reserves were
at $98 million as of April 11, 2025, narrowly avoiding
collapse.
Ballys
Takeover and Overhaul Plans: Ballys, a U.S.
casino giant, is set to control about 56% of Stars
capital, pending regulatory approval. Ballys
chairman, Soo Kim, emphasized a back-to-basics
approach, aiming to strip away the luxury focus of
Stars casinos (Sydney, Brisbane, and Gold Coast)
and make them more accessible, likening them to large-scale
RSL clubs. Kim noted Ballys history of turning
around distressed properties but acknowledged Stars
turnaround as a significant challenge.
Operational
and Market Challenges: Stars Brisbane casino,
Queens Wharf, was written down in value, and
its sale to partners Far East Consortium and Chow
Tai Fook Enterprises provided $53 million. The company
faced a trading halt in February 2025 due to delayed
financial reporting, with shares resuming trading
on April 16 at 11 cents, briefly jumping 14% before
crashing. Regulatory issues, including a $100 million
fine and a suspended license, continue to weigh on
the company.
Leadership
and Strategic Focus: CEO Steve McCann highlighted
the very challenged trading environment
but is now focusing on revenue growth following the
rescue deal. Ballys pitched its investment after
Star failed to secure a $940 million lifeline from
Salter Brothers, signaling a shift in strategy to
stabilize operations.
Critical
Perspective: While Ballys intervention offers
a lifeline, Stars deep losses and regulatory
burdens suggest a tough road ahead. The shift to a
less glamorous, mass-market model may alienate high
rollers, and stricter regulations could continue to
erode revenue. The narrative of a rescue
should be scrutinized, as Ballys own motivationsacquiring
a distressed asset at a discountmay prioritize
its interests over Stars long-term viability.

News
Corp puts Foxtel up for sale after asset review
By
Sam Buckingham-Jones
August
9, 2024
News
Corp, the publishing and broadcast giant controlled
by the Murdoch family, has put its majority-owned
Australian pay television platform Foxtel up for sale
after a nine-month strategic review of its assets.
Outlining
its financial results on Friday, News Corp said there
was third-party interest in Foxtel, which
owns a pay TV business, streaming services Binge and
Kayo Sports, and aggregation platform Hubbl.
We
are confident in the companys long-term prospects
and are continuing to review our portfolio with a
focus on maximising returns for shareholders,
News Corp chief executive Robert Thomson said.
That
review has coincided recently with third-party interest
in a potential transaction involving the Foxtel ...
We are evaluating options for the business with our
advisors in light of that external interest.
News
Corp owns 65 per cent of Foxtel, and Telstra owns
the rest.
Foxtel
has spent the past decade pivoting to the streaming
era, building Kayo and Binge which have much
leaner profit margins while preserving its
legacy base of around 1 million subscribers who pay,
on average, $90 a month. It has grown its total paying
subscription base to 4.7 million people.
Any
sale of Foxtel would have a flow-on effect on long-term
content deals, multi-billion dollar sports rights
packages, and more.
Mr
Thomson told analysts that News Corp had a significant
overture that we are naturally assessing, but
declined to provide further details.
We
have full faith in the potential of Foxtel and the
talented team at Foxtel, he said. On behalf
of shareholders, we have to evaluate any interest

(For
entertainment purposes). Satire.
This
flashback goes back approximately two years, with
some more recent additions. Some details are purposely
left grey or vague.
Some
of the scenes in Succession can draw some comparisons
to some developments in the current Murdoch empire.
Much like Nostradamus quatrains aka Les Prophéties,
we're not going to "spell out" specifics.
The audience and readership can draw their own conclusions.
Use of imagination to "take you everywhere"
as the legendary Albert Einstein is encouraged. Timelines
may differ. Think like a Nikola Tesla time machine!
Keep
in mind that in the past few years the landscape of
both the professional wrestling and news media industry
has changed considerably.
Examples
could include that according to mainstream media such
as The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian and The
Australian Financial Review, there are numerous legal
situations afoot, behind the scenes of the Murdochs',
primarily concerning a number of siblings. This has
been making the rounds at Australian based newspapers
and starting going much more public circa June 2024.
World's
leading professional wrestling promotion, the WWE,
has undergone numerous high level management changes
over the past few years and is currently doing record
breaking business. Media firms following the situation
and business closely such as the Media Man Group aka
Media Man Australia, has advised that the WWE is currently
enjoying glory days and a new golden era, also known
as The Triple H era. Staff, management and talent
morale, conditions of employment and contacts have
improved significantly and more wrestling legends
have returned to the WWE fold, partly as a public
show of support - Jesse 'The Body' Ventura being the
most recent high profile wrestling legend to return
to WWE television. How much more upcoming TV time
Ventura receives via the WWE machine is not known
to the general public, or to many people for that
matter.
Succession
is a TV series with fictional characters, some of
which has been widely speculated to be various members
of the Murdoch family media dynasty, as well as some
associates.
Many
family businesses have interesting twists and turns
going on for real in the business structure, and as
witnessed, the pro wrestling and media empire sector
make for good and usually interesting and entertaining
fodder when adapted to the TV series medium. Some
of the family dynasty's even make it to the big screen
such as 'The Iron Claw' based on the trials and tribulations
of the famous Von Erich pro wrestling promotion based
in Dallas, Texas.
As
one might expect, when family and big business drama
series, movies and such are adapted, numerous details
are left out and left vague for a variety of reasons
spanning legal, marketing, entertainment factor and
other.
There
are currently a number of interesting situations and
scenarios playing out in the real world in both big
media and big time professional wrestling.
From
time to time we may provide an update, and if so,
it will likely be a satire and entertainment approach,
rather than other. We enjoy good lines of communication
with many mainstream news media companies and world's
leading professional wrestling firms and will publish
and report news on a goodwill basis with the highest
of respect shown for any individuals concerned. Again,
satire, with a dose of gonzo journalism, while focussing
on the positives.
Until
next time, that's it from us - wrestling with media.
