Cody Rhodes to battle Seth Rollins in a WWE Crown Jewel Championship Match

At WWE Crown Jewel, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will go to war with longstanding adversary World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a WWE Crown Jewel Championship Match.

At Wrestlepalooza, Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre to retain his title in an explosive clash. Then, in the post-show, The American Nightmare was suddenly confronted by Rollins.

The inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Championship Match took place in 2024 with Rhodes defeating then-World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. This year's Champion vs. Champion showdown carries tremendous intrigue due to the epic battles Rhodes and Rollins have already had with each other, including their bouts at WrestleMania 38, WrestleMania Backlash 2022 and WWE Hell in a Cell 2022.

Who will claim the title? Find out at WWE Crown Jewel, STREAMING LIVE from Perth at 8 a.m. ET/5 a.m. PT on the ESPN App in the United States and on Netflix everywhere else. (WWE)

WWE Crown Jewel: Perth (2025)WWE Crown Jewel: Perth was a historic premium live event (PLE) held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia. This marked the seventh edition of the Crown Jewel series and the first time it was hosted outside Saudi Arabia, where previous events took place. The move to Perth followed the success of WWE's 2024 Elimination Chamber in the same city, expanding WWE's presence in Australia as part of a "takeover weekend" that also included episodes of Friday Night SmackDown (October 10) and Monday Night Raw (October 13) at the venue. The event was streamed live on ESPN's direct-to-consumer app in the United States (replacing Peacock after WWE's contract expired) and on Netflix internationally (following the WWE Network's integration into Netflix earlier in 2025). It drew a sold-out crowd of around 15,000 fans, generating significant buzz for featuring John Cena's final Australian appearance as part of his 2025 retirement tour.Key Highlights and MatchesThe card centered on high-stakes "Crown Jewel Championship" bouts between champions from Raw and SmackDown, emphasizing the "best of the best" theme introduced in 2024. Commentary was handled by Michael Cole and Wade Barrett, with ring announcer Alicia Taylor.

The event opened with a ceremonial transport video of the Crown Jewel title belts from Saudi Arabia to Australia.

Main event; Rollins won with interference involving a "gift" from Rhodes (a steel chair), leading to post-match tension. Rollins cut a fiery promo afterward.

Runtime: Approximately 3 hours.
Attendance: 15,352 (sold out).

Notable Moments: The Perth crowd chanted for former WWE star Edge (now Adam Copeland in AEW) during the post-show, singing his theme "Metalingus" while Triple H was speaking. Backstage reports noted the main event was always planned as Rhodes vs. Rollins, and not the full roster traveled to Australia.

Fan and Critical ReceptionEarly reactions on X (formerly Twitter) were mixed but enthusiastic, with fans praising the international flavor and Cena's performance while critiquing production energy compared to 2024's Elimination Chamber. Posts highlighted Seth Rollins' victory as a turning point in the Rhodes storyline, and Rhea Ripley's promo drew laughs for its Aussie slang.Critics lauded the event for "sports entertainment excellence," with Cena-Styles earning top marks for storytelling. However, some noted the tag match felt disjointed due to real-life tensions.Aftermath and Next StepsRaw (October 13, Perth): Features fallout, including Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Penta for the Intercontinental Championship, Bayley & Lyra Valkyria vs. Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez, and Crown Jewel repercussions.

Tickets and Replays: Available via Ticketek for future Australian events; replays on Peacock (U.S.) or WWE Network (select markets).

This event solidified WWE's Australian expansion, with rumors of more Down Under shows in 2026. For full results or highlights, check WWE's official site.

Usos Reunion on WWE Raw

The Usos, comprised of brothers Jey and Jimmy Uso, have officially reunited on WWE Raw, marking a significant moment in WWE's ongoing Bloodline storyline. Here's a summary based on recent WWE events and general fan sentiment:

Event Summary: During a recent episode of Raw, Jey Uso, who had been on the receiving end of some family betrayal, was approached by his brother Jimmy Uso. Despite past tensions, especially around WrestleMania 40, Jimmy sought reconciliation. The reunion was highlighted when Jey agreed to meet Roman Reigns to potentially squash their beef, indicating a move towards mending familial ties.

Reactions and Sentiment: Fans on platforms like X expressed excitement and emotional responses to seeing The Usos back together, with many feeling that it was a heartfelt moment that had been long awaited.

There was some critique on the pacing, with opinions suggesting that the reunion might have been rushed, especially in the context of the broader Bloodline narrative involving Roman Reigns and other family members like Solo Sikoa. However, the general consensus appreciates WWE's direction in bringing the brothers back together, seeing it as a step towards potentially healing or at least addressing the internal conflicts within The Bloodline.

Narrative Implications: The reunion sets the stage for further developments, particularly with Roman Reigns' involvement. Jey's agreement to meet Roman could lead to storylines where they address past grievances or possibly realign their family dynamics.

This move also potentially sets up conflicts or alliances with newer members or associates of The Bloodline like Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu, who were part of an attack on The Usos during Raw, suggesting ongoing tension.

Fan Expectations: There's anticipation around how this reunion will play out at future events like SmackDown or larger WWE spectacles, with many fans hoping for a more cohesive Bloodline or at least a resolution to the familial strife that has been a central theme.

This development continues to enrich the layered storytelling WWE has been crafting with The Bloodline, focusing on family, loyalty, and the struggle for power within this wrestling dynasty. (Grok)

Media Man: The above Grok entry did/does not include the news regarding Roman Reigns teaming up with The Usos to face The (new) Bloodline. We have included this to demonstrate that Grok is very close to having live updates, but not quite there at this stage. As is often the case, the promoter is the source (in this case, the WWE, who released the information onto social media channels, with Elon Musk's X being the platform we secured the breaking news from first). Big thumbs up again Elon Musk, Linda and crew at X. Media Man Ed.

WWE Crown Jewel is a professional wrestling event produced by WWE, an American-based promotion. It is broadcast live and available only through pay-per-view (PPV) and the livestreaming services Peacock and the WWE Network. Established in 2018, the event has been held every year since except in 2020, which was due to the COVID-19 pandemic that year, and it is held in late October—early November. It is WWE's main recurring event that takes place in Saudi Arabia as part of a 10-year partnership in support of Saudi Vision 2030; the inaugural Crown Jewel was the second event in this partnership. The event's name is a reference to it taking place in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

History
Main article: WWE in Saudi Arabia
In early 2018, the American professional wrestling promotion WWE began a 10-year strategic multiplatform partnership with the Ministry of Sport (formerly the General Sports Authority; renamed in 2020) in support of Saudi Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia's social and economic reform program. The first pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE Network event under this partnership, the Greatest Royal Rumble, was held at the King Abdullah Sports City's King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah on April 27, 2018. A follow-up was held on November 2 titled Crown Jewel, which was held at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia; the show was headlined by the first (and so far only) "WWE World Cup" tournament, and a tag team match between D-Generation X (Shawn Michaels and Triple H) and The Brothers of Destruction (Kane and The Undertaker).

A second Crown Jewel event was then held the following year on October 31, 2019, at the King Fahd International Stadium, also in Riyadh, thus establishing Crown Jewel as a recurring event for the Saudi Arabian partnership, and specifically, a recurring event in Riyadh. Because of COVID-19 pandemic-related regulations, a Crown Jewel was not held in 2020; however, the event returned in 2021 and took place on October 21 at the Mohammed Abdu Arena on the Boulevard in Riyadh The 2021 event was also the first Crown Jewel to livestream on Peacock's WWE Network channel, following the merger of the American version of the WWE Network under Peacock in March that year.

On May 23, 2022, WWE announced that the 2022 Crown Jewel would be held on Saturday, November 5. The event was held at Mrsool Park, marking the second Crown Jewel to be held at this venue after the inaugural 2018 event, which was held there when it was previously referred to as King Saud University Stadium (renamed in 2020). The 2023 event was confirmed to be held at the Mohammed Abdu Arena, marking the second Crown Jewel held at this venue after the 2021 event. (Wikipedia)

WWE Crown Jewel 2024

Grok News/Profile

WWE Crown Jewel 2024 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event marks the sixth Crown Jewel, featuring wrestlers from both the Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. Here's what you need to know:

Main Events:

For the inaugural WWE Men's Crown Jewel Championship, Gunther (Raw's World Heavyweight Champion) will face Cody Rhodes (SmackDown's Undisputed WWE Champion).

For the WWE Women's Crown Jewel Championship, Liv Morgan (Raw's Women's World Champion) will compete against Nia Jax (SmackDown's WWE Women's Champion).

Championship Concept: The WWE Crown Jewel Championships for both men and women will not involve the defense of their existing titles. Instead, winners will be crowned as the inaugural Crown Jewel Champions, which introduces a new tradition for WWE's events in Saudi Arabia.

TV and Streaming:

The event will be available worldwide via pay-per-view and livestreaming. In the United States, it will stream on Peacock, while internationally, it will be accessible through the WWE Network (with this being the last event to do so before Netflix takes over in January 2025).

Reception and Fan Sentiment: From the posts found on X, there's a mix of reactions. Some fans and analysts criticize the introduction of the Crown Jewel Championships as unnecessary or gimmicky, akin to criticism leveled at similar one-off title scenarios in other wrestling promotions. However, the event itself draws significant attention due to its high-profile matches and the unique setting in Saudi Arabia.

Event Significance: Crown Jewel has become a key part of WWE's international expansion, showcasing matches that often have high stakes or historical significance within WWE lore. The introduction of these new championships adds an extra layer of prestige and novelty to the event.

This event continues WWE's tradition of holding significant shows in Saudi Arabia, blending sports entertainment with cultural exchange, although not without its share of controversy and varied fan opinions on the necessity of new titles. (Grok)
