CTV
with Ukwanni "Man In The Cape"

14th
October 2003
Welcome
to the premier of CTV. Im your host, Ukwanni
Man In The Cape.
CTV
is about food, film, fashion, and fun here in
the Cape. Actually CTV stands for Cape Town Views.
Because
Cape Town is such a dynamic and Cosmo
place there is always plenty to do and see here.
In fact, the summer season is just about t get
under way. With things heating up, I will have
a finger on the pulse of all that makes this city
swing. Cape Town is fast becoming an international
hot spot in so many ways. The most rapidly growing
area is film. Because Cape Town in so attractive
for film makers, they are flocking here in record
numbers to produce their works. As a result, Cape
Town is making quite a reputation for itself as
the place to see and be seen. Having said that
I think it is time for a pre-view of whats
to come on CTV. What would a premier be without
at least a peek behind the Cape as it were.
First up is my view on a current film screening
at the famous V&A waterfront theatre.
Film
Views
Terminator
Three
Go
see it for the special FXz, and especially
the new kick-Butt Cyber Gurl. The rest you can
say Hasta La vista babe to!!
The Magdalene Sisters
My
view of the film not to misss is called The Magdalene
Sisters. It is due out in October and It promises
to be the next Piano. I dont
think you will want to miss this unflinching look
at life in a convent. Not to mention the lives
of three young women thrown together by fate if
not horrific social upheavals and personal discord.
Fashion Views
I
was recently out and about in the city and came
across the most stunning and elegant wear for
the lady about town. It is a perfect blending
of native textures and colour with a hint of Milan
cat walk style. I was especially impressed with
the way the designer masterfully accessorised
the collection using lace and bead work. I am
sure the wearer of this fine couture will be at
home here as well at anywhere internationally.
My view is the savvy in fashion will want to reach
into their collection and recreate this new look
from on hand items. But you need to hurry because
once this trend catches on, youll look like
oh so many others crowding the side walks of the
Cape.
Well, That is it for this edition of CTV and your
host Ukwanni, Man In The Cape. I look forward
to our nest visit together here in the CTV studios
here in the Cape. Then well share in all
things edible and fun found only in the Cape with
Ukwanni your guide. Until then, Chow!
