CTV with Ukwanni "Man In The Cape"

19th December 2003

My only question for all of you adoring fans of CTV is why aren’t you here in Cape Town with me yet? Ukwanni “Man In The Cape” says get your seat on the next plane, boat, parachute, or swim here as fast as you can. Why you might ask? Well I should guess after our last romp around the cape your interest should have been peaked and your mouth watering for your own piece of the action. And take it from me, there is more going on here then at a regular Roman Toga feast!

Alright, enough lip service for now. I have some really great views to share, as always. This time I spent visited a superb and some what secluded beach called Windmill beach and is full of amazing things to see. Along with some experienced divers, including myself by the way, we geared up for some serious snorkelling and hit the water. We were constantly under the ever watchful and curious eyes of the local penguin population perched just yards away on rocks. As we made our way through massive kelp beds, which all but blocked out the sun light from above, we broke through into breath taking crystal clear arenas of turquoise coloured open water. Here, I saw swarms of brightly coloured fish that shimmered as they danced in the ebbing currents. As I made my way further still into this underwater paradise, I dive down to the ocean floor some 20 feet below and took in spectacular views of sea life to include florescent green sea cucumbers, deep purple sea anemones, as well as orange star fish. At this point, a few of the penguins decided to join in and swam some feet away. It was then I spotted a shark directly
beneath me stealthily patrolling the bottom. My companions also caught a glimpse of this beautiful creature with its grey body decorated its length with black strips. We wrapped up our snorkelling for the day and then headed back to the beach where another surprise awaited us. We discovered that a
wedding was underway as the minister presiding over it arrived via sea kayak! What an interesting end to my watery adventure at Windmill Bay.

Before I leave you, I have to tell you about a wine I recently had the pleasure of tasting called Neiderburg Lyric. Am amazing Chardonnay which is worthy of notice! Although this wine inhabits the lower price point region of the South African wine market, it should not be taken for granted. I would recommend putting it on your “Wines to try list” when you do visit South Africa, hopefully in the not too distant future
( Hint-Hint)!

Alright every one, its been grand but Ukwanni, “Man In the Cape” must sign off. I’m taking my cyber limousine back to the château until it is time to venture forth in the Cape to bring you more views on fun, food, film, and fashion. As I always say; “Chow For Now!”
