Southern
Cross chair says merger with Seven has 'strong support'
The
proposed merger between Seven West Media and Southern
Cross Media Group has been criticised by some shareholders
of the latter. They are concerned about the proposal
to issue nearly 100 per cent of its shares to finance
the acquisition of Seven West without putting the
deal to its own shareholders. Sandon Capital MD Gabriel
Radzyminski will seek a change to Southern Cross's
constitution that would prevent the group from issuing
more than 25 per cent of new shares without a shareholder
vote; Sandon has an 11.3 per cent stake in the media
group. However, Southern Cross chairman Heith Mackay-Cruise
says there is strong support for the deal amongst
its major shareholders. (RMS)

NRL
poised to pip AFL for largest grand final broadcast
audience for first time in a decade
The
Seven Network's coverage of the 2025 AFL grand final
is currently Australia's most-watched TV program in
the year-to-date, boasting an average audience of
4.08 million people. However, the NRL's two preliminary
finals had a combined average audience of 5.2 million,
which is 35 per cent higher year-on-year. Some TV
industry insiders believe that the NRL grand final
on the Nine Network will attract a larger audience
than the AFL's premiership showdown; this would be
for the first time since 2015. The last grand final
showdown between the Brisbane Broncos and Melbourne
Storm in 2006 attracted an average audience of nearly
four million. (RMS)

Media
merger to counter big tech
The
proposed merger between Seven West Media and Southern
Cross Media Group is forecast to generate annual pre-tax
cost synergies of up to $30m. The merger will combine
Seven's linear TV and digital broadcast platforms
with Southern Cross's radio stations; Seven also owns
print and digital newspapers. Seven West's shareholders
are expected to vote on the deal later this year or
in early 2026; if approved, Southern Cross will emerge
with a 50.1 per cent stake in the combined entity.
Seven's CEO Jeff Howard will take on the role in the
merged group, while Seven chairman Kerry Stokes will
step down in favour of Southern Cross counterpart
Heith Mackay-Cruise. Southern Cross CEO John Kelly
has indicated that he has also held merger talks with
Nine Entertainment in recent months. (RMS)

Don't
team up: NRL chief to Nine, Foxtel
The
National Rugby League's current $1.7m broadcasting
rights deal with Foxtel and Nine Entertainment ends
in 2027, and the league will commence negotiations
for the next deal later this year.
The
Australian Rugby League Commission's chairman Peter
V'landys expects the new deal to be worth much more,
noting that there has been strong growth in TV audiences
for NRL matches. He adds that live sport is crucial
to the future of free-to-air TV, given the audience
shift to streaming platforms.
V'Landys
has also cautioned Nine and Foxtel against making
a joint bid, warning that the NRL will take the rights
elsewhere if they attempt to collude. (Roy Morgan

Australians drive use of captions for films, videos
and TV shows
Research
from Roy Morgan shows that 43% of Australians now
prefer to watch films, videos and TV shows with captions
or subtitles on, while 13% prefer their news and entertainment
in a language other than English. Analysis by age
shows a that majority of Australians under 35 say
they prefer to watch films, videos and TV shows with
the subtitles or captions on (54% aged under 25 and
58% aged 25-34), as do 48% of those aged 35-49. Meanwhile,
just over a quarter of 50-64yr olds (28%) and 65+
(30%) prefer to watch such content with the subtitles
or captions on. Younger Australians are also more
likely than their older counterparts to prefer their
news and entertainment in a language other than English.
This new Roy Morgan dataset was developed in partnership
with the Media Federation of Australia's DE&I
Advisory Council. A nationwide cross-section of 14,969
Australian aged 14+ were interviewed between April

After
trashing big tech for years, Murdochs eye TikTok US
stake
US
President Donald Trump has stated that a group of
"American patriots" could potentially buy
the US operations of short-video platform TikTok.
He named Lachlan and Rupert Murdoch as likely investors
in TikTok, as well as IT pioneers Michael Dell and
Larry Ellison. Sources have indicated that the Murdoch
family would most likely invest in TikTok via Fox
Corporation. However, the Murdochs' media outlooks
in Australia have been frequent critics of TikTok
- and social media platforms in general - in recent
years. Amongst other things, they lobbied for reforms
that led to the introduction of the News Media Bargaining
Code. (RMS)

Starlink
ups plans to 44,988 satellites
SpaceX
has filed a formal application to the Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) for permission to launch thousands
of extra satellites into very low Earth orbit (VLEO).
The scheme will take some time to implement but suggests
that Starlink would then be able to manage greater
coverage of its direct-to-consumer connectivity. Starlink
already has about 650 direct-to-cell- satellites
in orbit.
The
application covers a slew of new orbits, between 326
kms and 335 kms and much lower than the existing Starlink
fleet. The application also covers usage of new
to Starlink transmission frequencies. Those
frequencies include those which Starlink acquired
from EchoStar earlier in September.
This
new system of up to 15,000 satellites will provide
ubiquitous connectivity to ordinary mobile handsets
and a range of other devices and user terminals,
the company wrote in its filing.
The
request is over and above existing filings which total
up to 29,988 satellites and covers a maximum
says SpaceX of an extra 15,000 satellites,
and taking the total envisioned of 44,988 satellites.
This
filing attachment contains information describing
SpaceXs non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellite
system and use of spectrum for Mobile-Satellite Service
(MSS), as required under Part 25 of the Commissions
rules.1 SpaceX proposes to provide MSS service internationally.
The
SpaceX request typically lists up to 5,760 satellites
for each orbital plane. SpaceX says the frequencies
and satellites will be used in partnership with terrestrial
operators to augment high-capacity terrestrial 5G
networks.
Observers
say these very low orbits mean that the satellites
are subject to some atmospheric drag. While the atmosphere
is extremely thin at altitudes of around 330 kms,
it still impacts satellites at these heights. Consequently,
the fleet will need to be replaced more frequently
as the satellites decay in orbit.
Expert
observers suggest that the extra fleet, when fully
in position will need an average of 3,100 replacements
to be launched annually.
Last
November, the FCC cleared SpaceX to orbit some Starlink
satellites as low as 340 kms in orbit, so long as
the company coordinates with NASA. The companys
new application requests to orbit the next-generation
cellular Starlink satellites ever closer to Earth,
from between 326 kms to 335km, which would likely
help reduce their latency when connecting to phones
below.

developments:
AEW Double or Nothing 2025: All Elite Wrestlings
(AEW) recent PPV event, Double or Nothing, held in
Glendale, Arizona, sparked discussions about its length.
Reports indicate that AEW wrestlers and staff, as
cited by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live,
unanimously felt the event was too long. This sentiment

could have been saved for weekly TV to streamline
the show.
AEWs

Additionally,
AEWs next PPV, All In, is set to compete directly

Based Streaming Services Feel Global Disruption To
Business Model; Consumer Churn And Viewers Spoiled
By Online Options Including Free Ones For Price Of

Nine
Entertainment's Stan is considering a move to introduce
advertising, as the Aussie streaming service looks
at ways of lifting revenue.
Stan
is one of the few remaining streaming services to
run without ads in Australia, with the only other
platform not to offer a cheaper, promotion-subsidised
subscription, Disney+, expected to introduce advertising
sooner rather than later.
Despite
managing to successfully compete against the likes
of industry giants Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+,
and Binge for close to a decade without incorporating
ads, Nine Entertainment's bottom line may now force
the company's hand as it looks to make up for diving
incomes in a range of areas.
According
to the Australian Financial Review, the departure
of Nine boss Mike Sneesby has potentially opened the
door for the introduction of ads on Stan, with new
acting CEO Matt Stanton understood to be considering
his options.
Mr
Sneesby, who was head of the streaming service before
ascending to the leadership of Nine, had kept a close
watch over Stan before his departure, with current
Stan boss Martin Kugeler apparently given little latitude
to make major changes.
Stan
was also largely separated from other parts of Nine
under Mr Sneesby and was given its own offices while
being spared from the worst of the cost-cutting which
affected other parts of the business such as
the Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald and Nine
Network.
However,
the financial pressures which necessitated those cuts
may now be set to hit home, with Mr Stanton having
two main options to increase revenue from the streaming
service.
The
first would be to increase prices, as many other platforms
have done in recent years, while the second would
be to implement advertising.
The
AFR reports that should Nine choose the second option,
it would likely begin by placing ads in Stan Sport,
given those viewers are already accustomed to having
promotional materials incorporated into broadcasts.
Nine
had previously considered the inclusion of ads in
sports coverage, including in coverage of the 2024
Paris Olympic Games, but ultimately decided against
it.
Despite
this, Nine's sales team are reportedly keen on the
prospect of ads in sport coverage as a potential source
of revenue in future.
However,
incorporating advertising into other programming,
such as films and tv shows, is more challenging, and
comes with the risk that viewers may move away (known
as churn) from Stan and onto Nine's free-to-air options.
There
is also the potential that a shift from a more expensive
ad-free subscription to a cheaper ad-subsidised one
could cost the company money by creating a shortfall
in revenue.
Nine
has not given any public indication about how it may
proceed.
News
Nine
mulls adding advertising to Stan in search for new
revenue
October
9, 2024
Streaming
platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video were
once entirely commercial-free. Now almost all services
have a cheaper ad-backed plan.
By
Sam Buckingham-Jones
Streaming
platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+
and Binge were once pristine islands where Australians
could pay for the privilege to watch movies and TV
shows without advertising.
This
is no longer true. All four of those companies now
offer cheaper tiers that are subsidised by limited
advertising. The other big player, Disney+, has introduced
ads in the US and is expected to do so in Australia
soon.
There
is still one exception to the rule. Stan is now the
only ad-free atoll remaining in a crowded sea of streamers.
Stan,
which is owned by Nine Entertainment, has been around
for 10 years. It is a rare example of a home-grown
streaming service that has managed to successfully
compete against the likes of Netflix and achieve scale
and profitability. That it has done this without advertising
hasnt gone unnoticed.
Mike
Sneesby, who founded Stan and went on to run Nine,
was asked about running ads more than four years ago.
At the start, he usually answered along the same lines:
Just because you can make money out of selling
something, it doesnt necessarily mean you should.

Olympics
fuels US TV viewership in August
September
2024
US Television viewing in August was boosted by the
2024 Paris Olympics, according to The Gauge report
from Nielsen. The Summer Games had the most notable
impact on broadcast viewership, notching growth levels
more typical for September with increases of 8 per
cent versus July and 11.7 per cent year over year.
The broadcast category ultimately accounted for 22
per cent of TV in August, and when looking week-by-week,
its share peaked during the first week of the interval
with 24.3 per cent of TV.
On
the streaming side, Peacock offered broad Olympics
coverage to complement linear offerings, the success
of which was demonstrated by a monthly viewership
increase of 39 per cent for the streaming service
overall, and nearly double the amount of viewers aged
35-49. These factors helped lift Peacock from a 1.5
per cent share of TV in July to a new platform-best
2.1 per cent share in August (+0.6 pts.). It also
makes Peacock only the third streaming platform this
year to record a 0.5 point share increase or more
on a monthly basis, in addition to YouTube (February
and July) and Netflix (June).
Olympics
programming on NBC drew millions of viewers in both
primetime and daytime windows. Across all of NBCs
Olympics telecasts that aired during the August interval,
32 of them totaled more than 5 million viewers, and
17 garnered more than 10 million viewers. Moreover,
Olympics telecasts on NBC notched the top 19 broadcast
telecasts of the month. Leading the charge with 17.9
million viewers was NBCs July 30th primetime
programme that highlighted Simone Biles and the US
womens gymnastics team winning gold in the team
competition, as well as four American medals in swimming
and the dramatic bronze-medal victory by the US womens
rugby team.
From a total television usage perspective, August
levels were even with July. However, a year-over-year
comparison revealed a larger imbalance, as usage this
month was up 3.5 per cent versus August 2023. A notable
year-over-year difference was also evident among broadcast
program genres, with broadcast sports programme viewership
up 239 per cent over August 2023, further illustrating
the impact of the Games on the overall TV landscape.
Like
the broadcast category, cable also exhibited a peak
viewing week that coincided with a major TV event.
The Democratic National Convention aired for four
nights across multiple networks during the final week
of the August interval, and during that week, cables
share of television climbed to 27.9 per cent. The
DNC also contributed to the top cable programmes in
August, with MSNBC receiving most of the benefits.
MSNBC owned the top 11 cable telecasts of the month,
and 14 of the top 15. ESPNs coverage of the
Florida State vs Georgia Tech football matchup snagged
the 12th spot. In the end, cable viewing was down
2 per cent from July and finished the month with 26.3
per cent of TV.
After
several consecutive remarkable months, the streaming
category had a softer month in August from a content
perspective, but remained the clear winner overall
with 41 per cent of TV (down 1 per cent, -0.4 pts.).
Only one original programme broke into the months
top 10 The Umbrella Academy on Netflix totaled
3.9 billion viewing minutes while the rest
went to acquired titles including Prison Break, which
led the way with 5.4 billion minutes across Netflix
and Paramount+. Bluey on Disney+ generated over 4
billion viewing minutes to secure the second most
watched streaming title this month. The animated Australian
import helped drive an 8 per cent increase for the
streamer, as Disney+ reached a platform high of 2.3
per cent of TV in August. Some of the 8 per cent boost
can also be attributed to Hulu content available within
the Disney+ platform to certain package subscribers.
YouTube
won the month among streaming services for the 19th
consecutive interval, posting another category and
platform best in August with 10.6 per cent of TV.
Compared with August 2023, YouTube has the largest
year-over-year difference in share for any streaming
platform and has added 1.5 points to its share of
TV (9.1 per cent to 10.6 per cent). Meanwhile, the
overall streaming category has gained 2.7 points YoY
and is up 11 per cent versus August 2023. (Wires)

Major
Players:
Netflix:
Known for its original content like "Stranger
Things," "The Crown," and "Squid
Game." They've been pushing into gaming and have
been experimenting with ad-supported models.
Amazon
Prime Video: Comes with Amazon Prime membership. Notable
for "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," "The
Boys," and its integration with shopping and
other Amazon services.
Disney+:
A powerhouse for family entertainment, featuring Marvel,
Star Wars, Pixar, and classic Disney content. It's
also expanding its library with more adult-oriented
content under the Star banner in some regions.
HBO
Max: Offers premium content like "Game of Thrones,"
"Chernobyl," and a vast library of movies.
It's also known for its DC Universe shows.
Apple
TV+: While newer, it's making waves with high-quality
originals like "Ted Lasso," "The Morning
Show," and "See."
Peacock
(NBCUniversal): Provides a mix of free and premium
content, including "The Office," WWE, and
original series like "Punky Brewster."
Paramount+:
Combines CBS All Access with content from Paramount,
Nickelodeon, MTV, and more, featuring shows like "Star
Trek: Discovery" and "The Stand."
Trends
and Developments:
Original
Content: There's a massive push towards creating exclusive
content to attract subscribers. This includes movies,
series, documentaries, and even live sports.
Global
Expansion: Services are increasingly focusing on international
markets, either by offering local content or by making
their service available in more countries.
Bundling:
Companies are bundling their streaming services with
other products. For example, Disney has bundles with
Hulu and ESPN+.
Ad-Supported
Models: To combat rising costs, some platforms like
Netflix have introduced or are considering ad-supported
tiers.
Direct-to-Streaming
Releases: Movies are increasingly bypassing traditional
theatrical releases, going straight to streaming platforms,
especially noted during global health crises.
Quality
Over Quantity: While there's a lot of content, platforms
are also focusing on high-quality, award-winning productions
to stand out.
Interactive
Content: Some platforms are experimenting with interactive
movies or shows where viewers can choose the plot
direction.
Technological
Integration: Enhanced with technologies like 4K, HDR,
Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos for audio, providing
a cinematic experience at home.
Challenges:
Content
Saturation: With so many platforms, there's a risk
of content fatigue among viewers.
Churn:
Subscribers frequently switch between services based
on what's currently available, leading to high turnover.
Regulatory
Scrutiny: Issues like market dominance, content licensing,
and privacy are increasingly under regulatory lenses.
Piracy:
Despite advanced measures, piracy remains a challenge,
especially for content not easily accessible in certain
regions.
If
you're interested in a specific aspect of streaming
entertainment or want to know about recent developments
since my last update, feel free to ask! If there's
a particular service or type of content you're curious
about, I can dive deeper into those areas. (Grok)
News
Streaming
TV
Streaming
TV has revolutionized how we consume television content,
offering a vast array of shows, movies, and original
programming through internet-based platforms rather
than traditional cable or satellite TV. Here's a breakdown
of what you might be interested in regarding streaming
TV as of my last update:
Key
Players:
Netflix:
Known for its extensive library, original content
like "Stranger Things," "The Crown,"
and "Squid Game," and a global reach.
Amazon
Prime Video: Comes with an Amazon Prime subscription,
offering shows like "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,"
"The Boys," and movies, plus the integration
with shopping services.
Hulu:
Offers a mix of current TV episodes, a robust library
of older content, and originals like "The Handmaid's
Tale." It's also notable for its live TV option.
Disney+:
Focuses on family-friendly content, including Marvel,
Star Wars, Pixar, and National Geographic. Hits include
"The Mandalorian" and "WandaVision."
HBO
Max: Home to HBO's acclaimed series like "Game
of Thrones," "Chernobyl," plus a wide
range of Warner Bros. movies and new originals.
Apple
TV+: While newer, it's gaining traction with high-quality
originals like "Ted Lasso," "The Morning
Show," and "Foundation."
Peacock:
NBCUniversal's service, offering a mix of free and
premium content, including "The Office,"
"Parks and Recreation," and new originals.
Trends
and Features:
Ad-Supported
vs. Ad-Free: Many services now offer tiers where you
can choose between watching with ads for a lower price
or paying more for an ad-free experience.
Live
TV Streaming: Services like Hulu + Live TV, YouTube
TV, and Sling TV allow streaming of live broadcast
channels, appealing to sports fans and those who still
want traditional TV experiences.
Bundling:
Some platforms offer bundles with internet service
providers or other streaming services to reduce costs.
Original
Content: There's a significant push towards exclusive,
original content to differentiate services, leading
to a golden age of TV with high-quality, diverse programming.
Global
Expansion: Services are increasingly focusing on global
markets, offering localized content or subtitles/dubbing
in multiple languages.
Technological
Considerations:
4K
and HDR: Many services now offer content in 4K resolution
and HDR, enhancing viewing quality.
Offline
Viewing: Most services allow downloading content for
offline viewing, which is great for travel or areas
with poor internet.
Smart
TVs and Devices: Streaming is not just for computers
or smartphones anymore; smart TVs, streaming sticks
(like Roku, Amazon Fire Stick), and gaming consoles
have made streaming accessible on almost any screen.
Challenges:
Content
Fragmentation: With content spread across multiple
services, there's a growing issue of "streaming
fatigue" where consumers feel overwhelmed by
the number of subscriptions needed.
Price
Increases: As content quality and exclusivity rise,
so do subscription costs, leading to discussions about
the cost-effectiveness of streaming vs. traditional
cable.
Piracy:
The fragmentation and cost have somewhat revived piracy
concerns as viewers look for ways to access content
without multiple subscriptions.
If
you're looking for recommendations or have specific
questions about streaming services or shows, feel
free to ask! If there's been a significant update
or new service since my last update, you might want
to check the latest reviews or news for the most current
information. (Grok)

News
Corp puts Foxtel up for sale after asset review
By
Sam Buckingham-Jones
August
9, 2024
News
Corp, the publishing and broadcast giant controlled
by the Murdoch family, has put its majority-owned
Australian pay television platform Foxtel up for sale
after a nine-month strategic review of its assets.
Outlining
its financial results on Friday, News Corp said there
was third-party interest in Foxtel, which
owns a pay TV business, streaming services Binge and
Kayo Sports, and aggregation platform Hubbl.
We
are confident in the companys long-term prospects
and are continuing to review our portfolio with a
focus on maximising returns for shareholders,
News Corp chief executive Robert Thomson said.
That
review has coincided recently with third-party interest
in a potential transaction involving the Foxtel ...
We are evaluating options for the business with our
advisors in light of that external interest.
News
Corp owns 65 per cent of Foxtel, and Telstra owns
the rest.
Foxtel
has spent the past decade pivoting to the streaming
era, building Kayo and Binge which have much
leaner profit margins while preserving its
legacy base of around 1 million subscribers who pay,
on average, $90 a month. It has grown its total paying
subscription base to 4.7 million people.
Any
sale of Foxtel would have a flow-on effect on long-term
content deals, multi-billion dollar sports rights
packages, and more.
Mr
Thomson told analysts that News Corp had a significant
overture that we are naturally assessing, but
declined to provide further details.
We
have full faith in the potential of Foxtel and the
talented team at Foxtel, he said. On behalf
of shareholders, we have to evaluate any interest
Youll have to stay tuned. Not indefinitely,
not perpetually, not ad infinitum. (Credit:

TO LAUNCH MY NETWORK TV
New
Station-Friendly Primetime Option Set for September
Primetime
Dramas Desire and Secrets
to Inaugurate My Network TV Debut
NEW YORK February 22, 2006 - FOX will launch
My Network TV, a new primetime program network scheduled
to debut this fall. Fox Television Stations, Inc.,
and Twentieth Television will operate the new venture.
The announcement was made today at a press conference
in New York by Peter Chernin, President and Chief
Operating Officer, News Corporation; Roger Ailes,
Chairman of Fox Television Stations; and Jack Abernethy,
CEO of Fox Television Stations.
Upon
launching on Tuesday, September 5th, 2006, My Network
TV will feature quality primetime programming from
8:00-10:00pm (EST/PST) Monday through Saturday, totaling
12 hours of original content per week. Providing broadcasters
a viable and station-friendly option for primetime,
involving no reverse compensation, My Network TV will
position stations with operational flexibility through
an appealing affiliation term and attractive inventory
split, further building asset value.
Fox
Television Stations WWOR/New York, KCOP/Los
Angeles, WPWR/Chicago, KDFI/Dallas, WDCA/Washington,
D.C., KTXH/Houston, WFTC/Minneapolis, KUTP/Phoenix,
WRBW/ Orlando and WUTB/Baltimore will serve as anchor
affiliates of My Network TV, representing 24% of the
United States. Supported with powerful branding and
marketing initiatives that tie-in locally, the service
will maintain and strengthen affiliates community
brand recognition with a complete look and feel of
a national network that empowers localism.
Regarding
the announcement, Mr. Chernin stated, No other
media company comes close to Fox when it comes to
launching new networks and gauging audience appetites.
Over the past 20 years, weve proved it time
and again with FBC, FX, Fox News Channel and National
Geographic Channel among many others. And with My
Network TV, we think weve come up with a unique
format that will resonate with todays consumer
and a model that can be profitable from day one.
Mr.
Ailes added, Backed by the strongest media company
in the world, My Network TV is a viable alternative
brought to you by proven winners who know quality
programming. Independent stations are in need of a
solid option for primetime and we believe no other
company is providing this service to the market.
Commented
Mr. Abernethy, Were thrilled to be launching
My Network TV this fall. We consider this to be a
station-friendly alternative that will deliver more
local inventory to its affiliates, uphold each stations
localism and feature quality programming supported
by strong branding and marketing. We are looking forward
to signing additional affiliates in the coming weeks.
Twentieth
Televisions new hour-long scripted dramas Desire
and Secrets will inaugurate My Network
TV. Structured in a 65-episode story arc stripped
Monday through Friday for 13 weeks, Desire
and Secrets are based on the worldwide
success of the telenovela format. Desire
chronicles the destruction of a family and the bonds
of brotherhood take center stage when two brothers
on the run from the mafia find themselves in a heated
battle of passion, betrayal, deceit and murder over
the woman they both love. Secrets goes
deep behind-the-scenes to focus on the glamorous,
yet sometimes brutally ruthless fashion industry,
in which greed, lust and blind ambition surround a
violent corporate takeover of the business hottest
company. Principal photography on the dramas will
commence early March.
Twentieth
Television is aggressively developing additional programs
and proven formats spanning reality, drama, comedy,
game, news, movies and talk for My Network TV as the
network develops, while also exploring opportunities
with its sister companies. The company is opening
its doors to all other major Hollywood studios to
negotiate future programming concepts. Programs currently
in development include:
Catwalk (Twentieth Television) -- The
ultimate search for the next It supermodel
begins by crossing the country to discover 30 of the
hottest, hippest and freshest faces who will compete
for the once in a lifetime opportunity to be catapulted

singletons are thrown together in a fantasy island
setting, where a star-studded search for love takes
place.
On Scene (Fox News) -- This crime investigative
series will cover all angles, examine all of the evidence
and trace every single clue of the most compelling
crimes committed today.
Americas Brainiest (working title)
[Celador (Who Wants to Be A Millionaire)]
-- This quiz show, based on the hit British program,
will find the countrys smartest individuals
and reveal them in an exciting format.
In addition, Twentieth Television is in advanced negotiations
with FremantleMedia North America (American
Idol) on an international format.

Fox Television Stations group, one of the nations
largest owned-and-operated network broadcast groups,
comprises 35 stations in 26 markets, covering nearly
45% of U.S. television homes. This includes five duopolies
in the top 10 markets, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago,
Dallas and Washington D.C., as well as duopolies in
Houston, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Orlando.
