James
Bond Island, known originally and locally as Ko
Tapu or Nail Island, found fame through the 1974
Bond film "The Man with the Golden Gun".
The film starred Roger Moore and Christopher Lee
(as the three nippled arch-villain Scaramanga)
but it was the scenic topography that helped make
the film into a firm Bond favourite. It also turned
the previously unknown Phang Nga Bay into a major
tourist attraction.
Some
travel agencies have organized a subdivision to
create tours specifically highlighting iconic
landmarks in the world of James Bond where Fleming
worked and lived, uncovering HQs of the intelligence
communities, SOE, SIS,MI5 and MI6.
Ko Tapu found fame through the 1974 film "The
Man with the Golden Gun". Its now referred
to as James Bond Island both by locals as well
as in tourist guidebooks. (Credit:
