Betting Insights and Predictions
Main
Event:
Ankalaev
(-260) vs. Pereira (+210) Ankalaev's wrestling and
cardio overwhelmed Pereira in their first meeting,
where "Poatan" admitted to not being at
full strength due to undisclosed issues. At these
odds, Ankalaev is the safe playhis 13-fight
unbeaten streak (excluding a draw) and grappling edge
make him a strong favorite. However, Pereira's knockout
power (9 KOs in 12 wins) could flip this if it stays
standing.
Prediction:
Ankalaev by decision (-110). Value bet: Under 2.5
rounds (+120) if you expect grappling control. Recent
X buzz highlights Pereira's improved camp, but stats
favor Ankalaev's 80% takedown defense.
Co-Main:
Dvalishvili (-360) vs. Sandhagen (+275)
Dvalishvili's
relentless 13-fight win streak and title defenses
make him a machine at 135 lbs, but Sandhagen's technical
striking and reach (72" vs. 68") could frustrate
the champ early. This is the card's best underdog
spotSandhagen's accuracy (52% significant strikes)
edges Dvalishvili's volume.
Prediction:
Sandhagen +275 (underdog play of the night). Prop:
Fight goes the distance (-150). Bettors on X are split,
with many fading the heavy juice on Merab.
Procházka
(-150) vs. Rountree Jr. (+125) A striker's paradise:
Procházka's wild aggression vs. Rountree's
Muay Thai. "The War Horse" gets the nod
for volume, but Rountree's recent KO streak (4 straight)
screams value. Prediction: Rountree +125.

White House
In
July 2025, President Donald Trump announced plans
to host a UFC event on the White House grounds in
2026, as part of the America250 celebrations marking
the 250th anniversary of American independence. The
event, confirmed by the UFC and White House officials,
is envisioned as a "championship fight"
with 20,00025,000 spectators, likely held on
the South Lawn. UFC CEO Dana White has expressed enthusiasm,
calling it "the baddest card of all time,"
with logistics already in progress, including coordination
with White House staff and Secret Service. Potential
headliners include Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall, with
Conor McGregor also expressing interest, though his
inclusion is less certain. The event aims to be a
historic first, as no professional sporting event
has ever been held on White House grounds. (Grok)

Wanderlei
Silva suffers fractured nose in postfight brawl
Wanderlei
Silva, one of the most popular figures of early mixed
martial arts, received treatment at a hospital Saturday
after he was knocked out in the aftermath of an exhibition
boxing match in Sao Paulo.
Silva,
49, was disqualified in the fourth round for throwing
illegal headbutts against 50-year-old Acelino Freitas.
Immediately after the bout, members of both fighters'
camps entered the ring and started an ugly postfight
brawl. During the scuffle, Silva got hit with a right
hand and crumpled violently to the floor. Brazilian
media identified Silva's attacker as Freitas' son,
Rafael.
Silva's
cornerman and former UFC champion Fabricio Werdum
later posted on social media that Silva suffered a
fractured nose from the punch and received facial
stitches. He was released following treatment.
"The
images don't lie," Werdum said in Portuguese
on social media. "It was so evil for that guy
to punch Wanderlei. He punched the back of the head
of Wanderlei. I don't know if it landed clean, but
it could have been something very serious."
Acelino
Freitas, a former boxing champion, blamed Silva's
corner for the brawl -- namely Werdum, who threw a
series of punches at Freitas and other members of
his team before Silva got knocked out.
"When
the fight ended, the referee disqualified Wanderlei
for the three headbutts, his coach went after me and
punched me," Freitas said on social media. "Wanderlei,
the fight was between you and me and had nothing to
do with the team. If you headbutted me, cool, I don't
care. But unfortunately, Werdum cowardly entered the
ring with your son and went all over everybody. And
I saw that someone also punched you."
Neither
the Brazilian National Boxing Council nor the promotion,
Spaten Fight Night, announced any immediate discipline.
In a statement, Spaten Fight Night said the events
did not represent its values of "sportsmanship
and respect to the rules."
The
boxing match was Silva's first since he retired from
MMA in 2018. He was supposed to face fellow Brazilian
MMA legend Vitor Belfort, but Belfort withdrew and
was replaced by Freitas on less than one month's notice.
The bout was scheduled for eight rounds. Silva weighed
in 44 pounds heavier than Freitas for the exhibition.

WWE Star Shotzi On Ronda Rousey In Pro Wrestling
Asked
about Rousey during an interview with TMZ, former
WWE star Shotzi Blackheart stated that she enjoyed
her time in the ring with the UFC star.
"She
was always so cool," Blackheart said of Rousey.
"She would invite me to her house to come train
with her and she was always down to take the most
brutal bumps. Especially [during] our pay-per-view
match, she was taking some crazy bumps for me."
"I'm
a big Ronda fan," Blackheart continued. "I
will forever be so proud to say, 'Hey, I wrestled
Ronda Rousey in a pay-per-view for the f**king championship.'
You can't take that away from me."
When
asked if Rousey hit harder than other opponents because
of her MMA background, Blackheart denied that to be
the case. There was one exception to that, as Blackheart
said that Rousey's judo throws hurt because they were
real.
Overall,
Blackheart indicated that working with the rest of
the women's locker room was her favorite aspect of
being in WWE. After being released by the company
in May, Blackheart has made her return to the independent
scene with appearances in MLW, GCW, and more.

(high-risk, high-reward for the striker).
Dvalishvili

by submission: +1000 (longshot, but his chain wrestling
shines in five rounds).

Top
Betting PicksAnkalaev by KO/TKO or Decision (-190):
Ankalaev dominated the first fight with superior grappling
and footwork, outstriking Pereira 142-98 over five
rounds. Pereira needs early power shots, but Ankalaev's
85% takedown defense and clinch work neutralize that.
This covers his most likely paths without risking
the full moneyline. 1 unit play.
Dvalishvili
by Decision (-170): Merab's relentless pace (avg.
7.2 takedowns per 15 min) overwhelmed similar wrestlers
like Sean O'Malley earlier this year.
Sandhagen's
counter-wrestling is solid, but he fades lateexpect
Dvalishvili to grind out another judges' nod after
two 2025 defenses. 0.75 unit play.
Procházka
by KO/TKO (+120): Jiri's wild striking volume (5.8
significant strikes/min) exploits Rountree's 62% striking
defense. Rountree is durable but vulnerable to pressure;
Procházka's 7-1 KO record in the UFC screams
value here. 0.5 unit play.
Parlay:
Pyfer ML (-140) + Mix by Submission (+190) + Zalal
ML (-130) = +450: Pyfer's power edges Magomedov's
cardio issues; Mix (PFL champ) suffocates Wiklacz

UFC
318, headlined by a trilogy fight between Max Holloway
and Dustin Poirier for the BMF title, takes place
on July 19, 2025, at the Smoothie King Center in New
Orleans, Louisiana. Below is a breakdown of the betting
odds for the main card and key preliminary fights,
along with insights based on available information.
All odds are sourced from various sportsbooks as of
July 17, 2025, and are subject to change. (Grok)
Main
Card Betting Odds
Max
Holloway (-130) vs. Dustin Poirier (+110) Lightweight
(BMF Title)
Context:
This is the trilogy fight, with Poirier holding a
2-0 record over Holloway (2012 submission, 2019 unanimous
decision). Holloway defends his BMF title, while Poirier,
fighting in his home state, aims to retire with a
win. The odds suggest a close fight, with Holloway
slightly favored due to his recent activity and striking
volume, though Poiriers history against him
and emotional edge make him a strong underdog.
Betting
Insight: The fight is priced as a pickem, with
some books listing both fighters at -110. Holloways
durability and high-volume striking make him a solid
bet for a decision win (-110), but Poiriers
power and accuracy offer value for a KO/TKO prop bet.
Given their history, betting on the fight going the
distance is a popular choice.
Roman
Kopylov (-240) vs. Paulo Costa (+200) Middleweight
Context:
Kopylov, ranked No. 14, comes off a controversial
head-kick KO win over Chris Curtis, while No. 13 Costa
has lost four of his last five fights. Kopylovs
technical striking gives him the edge, but Costas
power makes him a live underdog.
Betting
Insight: Kopylovs -240 odds reflect his recent
form, but Costa at +200 offers value for an upset
via knockout, as the fight is expected to end early.
Kevin
Holland (-450) vs. Daniel Rodriguez (+350)
Welterweight
Context:
Holland, No. 14 in the welterweight division, is on
a two-fight win streak, while Rodriguez is 2-3 in
his last five. Hollands versatility and reach
advantage make him a heavy favorite.
Betting
Insight: Hollands -450 odds are steep, but his
well-rounded skill set justifies the price. A parlay
with Holland and another favorite like Dan Ige could
boost returns.
Dan
Ige (-210) vs. Patricio Pitbull Freire
(+175) Featherweight
Context:
Ige, ranked No. 12, faces former Bellator champion
Freire, who looked lackluster in his UFC debut loss
to Yair Rodriguez. Iges speed and striking volume
give him the edge.
Betting
Insight: Ige at -210 is a solid favorite, likely winning
by decision due to Freires durability. Freire
at +175 could tempt risk-takers, but his recent performance
lowers confidence.
Daniel
Zellhuber (-550) vs. Michael Johnson (+400)
Lightweight
Context:
Zellhuber, a rising prospect, has a significant reach
and youth advantage over the 39-year-old Johnson,
who is inconsistent but dangerous.
Betting
Insight: Zellhubers -550 odds are high, but
his skill set suggests a likely win, possibly by submission.
Johnsons +400 odds are enticing for an upset
via KO, given his power, but its a long shot.
Key
Preliminary Card Odds
Vinicius
Oliveira (-165) vs. Kyler Phillips (+140) Bantamweight
Context:
Oliveira, on a five-fight win streak, faces No. 12-ranked
Phillips, who lost to Rob Font recently. Phillips
striking volume could lead to an upset.
Betting
Insight: Phillips at +140 is a strong underdog pick
due to his striking output and wrestling ability,
potentially edging out a decision.
Brendan
Allen (-205) vs. Marvin Vettori (+170) Middleweight
Context:
Both fighters are coming off two-fight losing streaks,
but Allens grappling and Vettoris durability
make this a close matchup.
Betting
Insight: Allen by decision is a popular prop bet,
but Vettori at +170 offers value for a judges
decision win due to his ability to absorb punishment.
Francisco
Prado (-149) vs. Nikolay Veretennikov (+125)
Welterweight
Context:
Prado, despite a 1-3 UFC record, is favored over Veretennikov,
who is 0-2 in the UFC. Prados grappling could
secure a decision.
Betting
Insight: Prado at -149 is a reasonable pick for a
decision win, but the close odds make this fight a
toss-up.
Ateba
Gautier (-550) vs. Robert Valentin (+400) Middleweight
Context:
Gautier, a Contender Series signee, is a heavy favorite
after a first-round KO in his UFC debut, while Valentin
is less proven.
Betting
Insight: Gautiers -550 odds reflect his finishing
ability, but Valentin at +400 might be worth a small
bet for an upset.
Islam
Dulatov (-600) vs. Adam Fugitt (+430) Welterweight
Context:
Dulatov, with 10 first-round stoppages, is a massive
favorite over Fugitt, who is 2-2 in the UFC.
Betting
Insight: Dulatov by KO (-600) is the safest bet, but
the odds offer little value. Fugitts +430 is
a long shot for an upset.
Brunno
Ferreira (-714) vs. Jackson McVey (+500) Middleweight
Context:
Ferreira, with a 4-2 UFC record, faces undefeated
newcomer McVey, who has six first-round finishes.
Ferreiras experience makes him a heavy favorite.
Betting
Insight: Ferreira by KO (-714) is likely, but McVey
at +500 could be a speculative bet for an early upset.
Betting
Tips and Strategies
Moneyline
Bets: For safer bets, consider Holloway (-130), Holland
(-450), or Zellhuber (-550). For underdog value, Poirier
(+110), Costa (+200), or Phillips (+140) offer potential.
Prop
Bets: The Holloway vs. Poirier fight going the distance
is a strong prop due to both fighters durability.
Kopylov vs. Costa ending by KO/TKO is another high-probability
prop.
Parlay
Options: A two-fight parlay with Ige (-210) and Holland
(-450) could provide decent returns with moderate
risk.
Live
Betting: Given the close odds for Holloway vs. Poirier,
live betting after the first round could offer better
value as momentum shifts.
Upset
Potential: Phillips (+140) and Vettori (+170) are
the most likely underdogs to win based on their skills
and matchup dynamics.

with 20,00025,000 spectators, likely held on
the South Lawn. UFC CEO Dana White has expressed enthusiasm,
calling it "the baddest card of all time,"
with logistics already in progress, including coordination
with White House staff and Secret Service. Potential
headliners include Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall, with
Conor McGregor also expressing interest, though his
inclusion is less certain. The event aims to be a
historic first, as no professional sporting event
has ever been held on White House grounds. (Grok)

313: Pereira Defends Title Against Ankalaev Amidst
Controversy
At
UFC 313, Alex Pereira, the undisputed light heavyweight
champion, is set to face a formidable challenge from
Magomed Ankalaev. The event, scheduled for March 8,
2025, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, has stirred
discussions due to Ankalaev's perceived grievances
with UFC's matchmaking, although these claims are
more inferred from fan reactions than directly stated
by Ankalaev. The press conference highlighted both
fighters' contrasting styles, with Pereira known for
his striking and Ankalaev for his wrestling. A victory
for Pereira could pave the way for high-profile fights
against the likes of Jon Jones, who is confirmed to
return this summer, potentially facing Tom Aspinall,
or even a crossover boxing match with Oleksandr Usyk.
The outcome of this bout will not only define Pereira's

TO BRING UFC AND WWE EVENTS TO PERTH
WWE to Take Over RAC Arena with a Premium Live Event,

UFC
to Return to Perth with Two Events, Including Blockbuster
Pay-Per-View
PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA AND NEW YORK, NY
TKO Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: TKO), together with
the Western Australian Government (WA Government),
today announced an expansion of their partnership
for Perth to host four additional UFC and WWE events
through 2026.
In
addition, under a previous agreement with the WA Government,
RAC Arena will host one UFC FIGHT NIGHT later this
year. In total, Perth will host five UFC and WWE events
over the next two years.
Said
the Hon. Roger Cook MLA, Premier of Western Australia,
"The return of UFC and WWE in 2025 is a major
coup for Western Australia, following the roaring
success of UFC 284 and WWE Elimination Chamber that
collectively injected nearly $50 million into our
economy last year. Both UFC and WWE have proven to
be huge drawcards with a dedicated fan base, and we
expect to see thousands of out-of-state visitors travel
to Perth to attend these blockbusters.
Added
Peter Dropick, Executive Vice President, Event Development
and Operations for TKO, Perth is a world-class
city, home to many passionate UFC and WWE fans, and

and the WA Government for making this possible.
WWEs
return to Perth will feature a massive weekend takeover
later this year across three nights at RAC Arena,
featuring SmackDown®, a Premium Live Event, and
Raw®. These events follow the incredible success
of WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth in February 2024,
which attracted more than 52,000 fans to Optus Stadium
and marked WWEs long-awaited return to Australiaa
milestone the WA Government played a key role in bringing
about.
In
2024, UFC and the WA Government announced an agreement
to bring two events to Perth over two years. The first
event, UFC® 305: DU PLESSIS vs. ADESANYA, was
a record-breaking achievement, attracting a sold-out
crowd of more than 14,000 fans and setting the mark
for the highest-grossing event in RAC Arena history,
breaking UFCs own record set in 2023 with UFC®
284: MAKHACHEV vs. VOLKANOVSKI. The second event under
this original agreement with the WA Government, UFC
FIGHT NIGHT, will be held at RAC Arena later this
year.

News
UFC
Betting
Betting
on UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) events has
become increasingly popular due to the sport's global
rise. Here's a comprehensive overview based on the
information provided:
How
UFC Betting Works
Moneyline
Betting: This is the simplest form of UFC betting
where you bet on who will win the fight. Odds are
set with a favorite (indicated by a minus sign) and
an underdog (indicated by a plus sign). For example,
if Fighter A is at -200, you need to bet $200 to win
$100, and if Fighter B is at +200, a $100 bet would
win you $200.
Method
of Victory: Here, you bet on how the fight will end,
like by knockout (KO), technical knockout (TKO), submission,
or decision. These bets typically offer higher payouts
due to their specificity.
Round
Betting: Predicting which round the fight will end
in. This can be combined with the method of victory
for more complex bets.
Over/Under
Rounds: Betting on whether the fight will last over
or under a certain number of rounds, usually set at
1.5 for non-title fights and 2.5 for title fights.
Prop
Bets: Proposition bets can include bets on whether
the fight will go the distance, specific times within
rounds, or other unique events during the fight.
Live
Betting: Allows you to place bets during the fight
as the odds change based on the action.
Parlays:
Combining multiple bets for potentially higher returns.
If any bet in the parlay loses, the entire parlay
loses.
Futures:
Betting on outcomes that will be decided in the future,
like who will win a championship.
Where
to Bet
Top
Betting Sites: Websites like Bovada, BetOnline, MyBookie,
FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM offer UFC betting.
Each has its strengths:
Bovada
is praised for its wide range of betting markets and
bonuses.
BetOnline
offers good odds and a strong mobile betting experience.
FanDuel
and DraftKings provide extensive prop bets and live
betting options.
Odds
Comparison: Websites like Odds Shark, BestFightOdds,
and others can help you compare odds across different
sportsbooks to find the best value.
Tips
for Betting on UFC
Research Fighters: Look at their records, fighting
styles, recent performance, injuries, and how they've
performed against similar opponents.
Check
Odds Movement: Odds can shift based on public betting
patterns or late news. Monitoring these changes can

UFC
307 Referee Controversy
At
UFC 307, held on October 5, 2024, in Salt Lake City,
there was significant controversy surrounding the
refereeing, particularly during the fight between
Cesar Almeida and Ihor Potieria. Here's a summary
of what transpired based on fan reactions and reports:
Multiple
Eye Pokes and Fouls: Fans and commentators expressed
outrage over the referee's handling of fouls, particularly
eye pokes. There were reports of at least four eye
pokes, with one instance not even stopping the fight,
and a low blow, all without any point deductions or
stern warnings.
Clinch
Separations: The referee was criticized for breaking
up clinch situations too quickly, often within seconds
of fighters engaging, which is seen as not allowing
fighters to work their game plan effectively, especially
in MMA where clinch work is a strategic part of fighting.
Public
Reaction: Social media, specifically X posts, were
flooded with criticism towards the referee's performance,
with users calling for his removal or reassessment
due to what they perceived as incompetence or bias.
Phrases like "worst ref" and demands for
his license to be revoked were common sentiments.
Fight
Outcome Influence: While not directly impacting the
official result, these refereeing decisions potentially
influenced the fight's dynamics and possibly the fighters'
strategies, leading to a broader discussion on how
refereeing can affect the sport's integrity.
This
event has sparked a broader conversation about referee
standards in UFC, particularly how fouls are managed
and the consistency in allowing fighters to execute
their strategies, especially in clinch and ground
positions. The controversy underscores ongoing issues
within combat sports regarding referee training, decision-making
under pressure, and the need for clearer guidelines
or stricter enforcement of rules to maintain fairness
in bouts. (Grok)

This fight was part of the undercard for UFC 307,
which took place at the Delta Center in Salt Lake
City, Utah, on October 5, 2024.
The
decision was met with mixed reactions. Some observers
felt the fight could have gone either way due to its
closeness, while others believed Rodriguez deserved
the win. There was also mention of controversy, possibly
related to eye pokes or other in-fight incidents,
which added to the debate over the decision. However,
the official outcome stands, with Lucindo gaining
a crucial win in her career against a tough opponent
like Rodriguez. (Grok)

Man Ed: Strong thumbs up. We largely agree with many
of Dana White's comments and quotes on the event,

Mexican
Independence Day News via Grok
Mexican
Independence Day is celebrated on September 16th every
year, commemorating the beginning of the Mexican War
of Independence from Spain in 1810. Here are some
key points about this significant celebration:
El
Grito de Dolores: The celebration typically begins
on the evening of September 15th with "El Grito,"
a reenactment of the famous cry for independence by
Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a priest who called for
the end of Spanish rule in the early morning of September
16, 1810. This event takes place in Dolores Hidalgo,
Guanajuato, and is also reenacted by the President
of Mexico from the National Palace in Mexico City.
Celebrations:
The festivities include fireworks, parades, parties,
and patriotic events. The Mexican flag is prominently
displayed, and there are often military parades, especially
in larger cities.
Food
and Drink: Traditional Mexican foods like chiles en
nogada (which represent the colors of the Mexican
flag), mole, tamales, and traditional drinks like
atole or tequila are commonly enjoyed during this
time.
Cultural
Significance: Unlike Cinco de Mayo, which commemorates
the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire
at the Battle of Puebla, Mexican Independence Day
is a celebration of the country's independence from
Spain, marking a pivotal moment in Mexican history
and national identity.
Parades
and Festivities: The day of September 16th itself
is filled with parades, music, dancing, and cultural
performances. Schools, towns, and cities organize
events to celebrate this national holiday.
If
you're interested in how this year's celebrations
might differ due to recent events or changes, or if
there are any special events planned for 2024, I'd
need to check more recent sources. Would you like
me to look that up for you? (Grok)

Her strategy involved excellent footwork and movement

Brady's
Unanimous Win over Burns
Sean
Brady secured a unanimous decision victory over Gilbert
Burns at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas, marking a significant
win in his career. Here's what we gathered from the
event:
Fight
Dynamics: Brady was dominant throughout the fight,
utilizing a strategy that involved both striking and
grappling. Despite Burns landing some significant
strikes, Brady's overall activity, control, and volume
of strikes led to his victory. He managed to take
Burns down multiple times and controlled much of the
fight's pace and positioning.
Judges'
Scorecards: The judges scored the bout 50-45, 50-45,
and 49-46 in favor of Brady, indicating a clear win
with his performance being favored across all rounds
by the judges.
Reactions:
Fighters and analysts on platforms like X (formerly
Twitter) expressed that Brady looked impressive, with
some noting his wrestling and improved striking. There
was a sentiment that while Burns had moments of success,
Brady's consistent performance from start to finish
was the deciding factor.
Implications:
This win propels Brady further up the welterweight
rankings, with some suggesting he's now among the
elite in the division and could be considered a title
threat. Discussions post-fight included potential
future matchups, with names like Usman being mentioned.
Burns'
Performance: Although Burns showed resilience and
landed some of the fight's most significant strikes,
it wasn't enough to sway the judges. This fight might
be seen as a testament to both his durability and
the challenge of facing a rising contender like Brady.
Career
Impact: For Brady, this victory over a former title
challenger like Burns is a substantial boost, likely
improving his ranking and setting him up for potentially
bigger fights in the welterweight division. For Burns,
at 38, this might be indicative of a challenging phase
in his career, especially after facing top talents
back-to-back.
From
posts and reactions on X, the consensus seems to be
that Brady not only won but did so in a manner that
showcased his growth as a fighter, potentially setting
the stage for a title run in the near future. (Grok)

The

November 15th after requiring a reschedule due to
a recent Tyson medical issue.
The
mega combat sports event will happen live from AT&T
Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with the already announced
Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano co-main event rematch.
The
decision to reschedule was announced last week following
Tyson suffering what was called ulcer complications
after boarding a flight. It was stated that Tysons
doctors instructed him to take it lighter on training
for a period of time that caused concern, and rightly
so, due to the timeframe in which the July 20th fight
was originally set to take place.
The
bout between the 58-year-old Tyson and the 27-year-old
Paul was first announced in early-March. It will be
Tysons first fight of any kind since a November
2020 exhibition boxing bout with Roy Jones Jr. which
was preceded by a 15-year-gap of inactivity.
Jake's
brother, Paul, had offered to sub (take the place)
for Tyson a few weeks ago, and that winner would have
to change their surname. The brainchild of "The

pro wrestling circles, never materialized, but the
Paul's always have an ace or two up their sleeves.
